Avoid - Worst place and racist owner.
During our visit to Versailles, my family (including kids) and we decided to stop by this restaurant on our last day in Paris before heading back to London. We arrived around 12:30 PM, eager to try some French cuisine as recommended by a local. As soon as we arrived, the owner came out and rudely informed us that there would be a long wait for food preparation. Despite this, we agreed to wait outside, hoping to experience what we had been told was authentic French food. However, as we waited quietly with my wife and child, the owner became visibly irritated, eventually asking us to wait across the street. Being ASIAN, I couldn't help but notice that shortly after we moved, the owner began inviting other people into the restaurant. When I re-entered to question this treatment, the owner not only ignored my concerns but became verbally aggressive and physically pushed me out of the door. In the process, the door was slammed, causing injury to my finger. The staff's behavior was equally hostile and unprofessional. This was, without a doubt, the worst service experience I have ever had, especially with my family present. I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant or recommend any one, as the owner displayed clear racist behavior. A quick look at other reviews will show similar complaints about the owner's racist and his rudeness even to reviews reply [Accepting similar to mein one]. It's unfortunate that a place like this could be viewed as a representation of French cuisine and need to be shut. Wish there were easy ways to raise such complaint.

Read moreWe have eaten at hundreds of these small restaurants all over France. Never have I felt compelled to call out a restaurant for the poor quality of their food. The positives: friendly and accommodating staff, CocaCola was good but they charged 5.9Euros for it in a 33cl bottle, nice location close to Versailles Palace but dirt surface under the tables creates clouds of dust when it is windy and staff walks through the tables and you get to inhale that dust. The negatives: the food is absolutely horrible. We had the fish and chips and the rotini with pesto sauce. You would be hard pressed to find any “fish” in the fish and chips. It was mostly nasty tasting breading. The fries tasted like they were recooked and were dry and tasteless. The rotini with pesto sauce was absolutely disgusting and we could not eat more than a few bites before we had to stop. They must have poured a liter of dark green pesto sauce on the pasta. Pesto sauce should be clear and have a mild taste- this was thick and disgusting and most likely not fresh. I don’t know how they have any positive reviews of their food. They must have a lot of relatives or friends writing the positive reviews. Unless you want to waste your time and money find a restaurant far away from the palace where the locals eat. I can’t imagine anyone that lives nearby would want to eat here...
Read moreDisappointing meal overall. Once seated, places were laid quite coldly without acknowledging we were there and when we were a fork short, they said they would come back with one and didn't. No one came to take our order for maybe 20 minutes, we managed to catch someone to ask who said they would go and get someone. No one then came until I managed to flag someone else down 5-10 minutes later. They started to take our order only to pause and go over to the next table to see if they had ordered yet. We finally ordered our food and drinks. 2 of us shared 50cl of Rosé - it was not fab. The Chardonnay, however, was pretty nice. When our food came, the beef bourguignon contained undercooked potato, the Caesar salad has very little to it with a bit of dressing and tiny croutons. Both of these portions also seemed very small in comparison to the butcher cut and chips, which was tough and under-seasoned despite being rare. Chips were okay but also could have used some seasoning. The béarnaise sauce that came with it had formed a nice thick skin in its pot. Of course, one member of our table couldn't start their meal because we were still a fork short and so had to go to the waiter station and get one themselves as we didn't want another 10 minute wait for a simple ask. We left thinking "At least it was pretty cheap". Would...
