Black & White Coffee Shop, Batumi – October Visit

This was another visit at the beginning of October. The place keeps getting better.

They finally added pastries and desserts! Staff say more baked items are coming soon.

Turkish coffee is still great here - strong, rich, and well-prepared.

The staff are excellent - friendly, fast, and always helpful.

You can buy a wide selection of coffee beans to take home. Good variety.

They serve strong alcohol, mostly for cocktails, but you can ask for a shot too.

Bottled beer is available, and they also have other non-alcoholic drinks in stock.

Outside, there are a few lovely tables under the shade of trees - peaceful and relaxing.

As a red blooded American, I crave large, steamy mugs of liquid brown. Filter coffee. Espresso drinks can take a hike. An americano is not an American black coffee. I need it batch brewed in hissing, gurgling, stainless steal and glass machines or delicately hand made with a pour over filter (if I’m feeling fancy).

I am very pleased that Georgian coffee shops make batch brew. You would not believe how difficult it is to get batch brewed filter coffee outside of the North American continent. I seek it out. Once I found Black & White my search for the best black coffee was over.

The cup is balanced, complex, flavorful, and best of all it’s hot. Burn your mouth if you ain’t careful hot. The way it aught to be. Made with passion and love for the bean.

Всегда приятно зайти, знаешь, что будет доброжелательный человек который поможет выбрать зерно и с которым можно поболтать о кофе(это ценно тк баристы из многих других заведений вообще не знают, чтож такое они готовят). Зерно всегда свежей обжарки и по самой низкой цене в батуми. Сама марка тести на голову выше местных обжарщиков(может шави тбилиские тож ничего, но дороже) зерно всегда равномерно обжарено.
