I didn't know what to expect - but this hotel exceeded my expectations.
Service: I'll start with the service because it was exceptional. Everyone greets you with smile and chats with you and cares. It truly makes the experience special when you feel like a desired customer. Kudos!
Rooms: I was upgraded to a very large suite and it was simply gorgeous. The rooms look over the Black Sea and the city. There is a huge living room with separate bedroom. The bed is comfy, the pillows were perfect. There are plenty of free outlets and the lighting is nice.
Bathroom: The bathroom has a rain shower head and is very nice. The have a shaving mirror but it's nailed to the wall in a poor location. Should be moved.
Property: They have a gorgeous pool with lots of seating. The pool is a must as the beach is all rocks (no sand). Not sure how anyone uses it. They have a pool restaurant but they won't allow you to eat by the pool, you must get up and sit at the restaurant. Silly that, since they have tables next to the lounges.
Platinum Recognition: 1- Upgraded to super large suite with wonderful views. 2- Late check out, no problem. 3- Free fast wifi. 4- Access to club lounge with beautiful balcony and yummy desserts and fresh fruit. They offer yummy snacks, but they are not vegetarian friendly. Some night only meat - others meat and fish. Beer and wine is on offer too. 5- Breakfast option for Platinums is not great. Continental breakfast or 500 points. Would be great if Platinums received full buffet breakfast as a matter of course.
Laundry: I used their laundry services but they didn't get my clothes cleaned. My clothes came back with the same stains I gave them in with (which came out at the next Starwood I went to). That's not acceptable when you're paying very hefty hotel cleaning charges. Further, at checkout, they overcharged me for the cleaning - although they stated they are going to credit me for the overcharge.
Restaurant: As with everything else, I loved the service at the restaurant. And the views are gorgeous. But I found the food to just be average, so I only ate there one night.
I highly enjoyed my stay at this property, but you be aware in the summer Batumi has beach clubs that blast very loud music from 11:30pm to 5am. And ear plugs do not help. So if you're coming to Batumi for peace and quiet, you may want to reconsider. Outside of this issue, I loved my stay here...

This review is specifically about the spa at Sheraton Batumi, not the hotel or the restaurant.
I am very disappointed with my experience at the Sheraton Batumi Spa. On December 31st, 2024, I specifically asked if the 95 GEL spa entrance fee was valid for a single entry or for 24 hours. The receptionist’s unclear answer led me to believe it was valid for 24 hours, so I decided not to book a two-week pass for 240 GEL per person, which I would have preferred if I had received the correct information. It was already 6pm so I thought today at the evening and tommorow morning.
When I returned on January 1st, 2025, and tried to enter the spa, the receptionist told me the fee was only valid for a single entry. When I explained the situation, both the receptionist and her supervisor were dismissive and unprofessional, insisting that the misunderstanding was my fault. Their attitude made me feel as though I was trying to deceive them, which was extremely insulting and frustrating.
This experience was particularly disappointing because I had already subscribed to the spa for several months during the summer of 2024. As a loyal customer, I expected better service and respect. While they eventually allowed me to enter, the entire visit was ruined. It’s impossible to enjoy a spa experience after being treated so poorly, especially when it was my girlfriend’s first time there.
If the staff cannot answer basic questions in English clearly, they should not be working at an international Hotel. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable for a facility that claims to offer premium services.
In general the Spa is really nice and I like to be there but after this situation, I will look also for an other option at...
Read moreTo our chagrin, and indeed surprise, over a five day stay in Batumi in mid June, the weather was inclement with only brief sunny opportunities in otherwise an abundance of rain.
The hotel made our stay enjoyable and proved to be a really comfortable refuge and base to explore. It is an icon in this Black Sea casino town and is located in the epicentre of the tourist strip and about 10 minutes north or so from the airport.
The ground floor of the hotel accommodates a very busy "Peace"casino however we did not experience any noise or disturbance. The 14th floor offers a Club facility and terrace where only meagre canapés are served with beer and local wine however with very charming and obliging staff.
Breakfast is also served on the ground floor and is surprisingly good and varied again with most accomplished and attentive staff.
The hotel's main restaurant Veronica on the top floor is open for very flexible hours and although the food won't win any Michelin stars, it was reliable and reasonably priced.
On the two afternoons of some sun during our stay, we took advantage of the hotel's colossal and very pleasant swimming pool strangely located across the road in a park area adjacent to the rocky and unappealing beach front.
Our room was large, well appointed and offered superb views - my only criticism of the room was the disproportionately small sized bathroom.
Most impressive for us was the entire staff of the hotel who appeared well trained and determined to enthusiastically oblige the guests (despite some pretty ordinary ungracious characters). Whilst it is unfair to single out staff, two who stood out were Kristina at the front desk and Bachana.
If we ever returned to Batumi, we would not...
