Coco Chan — Restaurant in Aachen

By far the greatest experience with a restaurant's staff. They really care for your satisfaction, i. e., they usually ask, if there is something to optimise about your meal. Since the preferences of each customer vary, e. g., some might like it saltier than others, they have the option to adjust the broth by another ladle of the pure broth or more of the "spice paste".

If you are lucky enough to meet the owner, you will also notice, that he really shows passion for his restaurant and asks for honest feedback for further improvements.

But until now, adjustments were not needed for me. Also this time the Tori Shoyu Ramen was scrumptious. Positively noting, the staff had apologised for the apparently "long" preparation time of around 25 minutes, which is actually reasonable.

Today, we even had the honor to test two different cakes, which might be added to the menu. A picture of the matcha cheesecake is attached (but I couldn't restrain myself to take a picture before starting to eat).

Enttäuschung und respektloser Umgang mit Gästen

Wir haben über eine Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet – am Ende wurde rohe Nudeln serviert. Drei Tische, die 20 Minuten nach uns gekommen sind, haben jeweils zwei Gerichte deutlich früher bekommen.

Die Kellner laufen von uns weg und erzählen jedes Mal eine andere Ausrede: mal hat die Küche den Auftrag verwechselt, mal sei er verloren gegangen. Die Atmosphäre ist angespannt, das Personal zeigt kein Interesse, das Problem zu lösen – stattdessen nur Ausflüchte. Ich spreche fließend Deutsch, aber mir wurde plötzlich vorgeschlagen, es vielleicht auf Englisch zu erklären – als ob das Problem die Sprache wäre und nicht der völlige Mangel an Service und Respekt.

Ein sehr unangenehmes Erlebnis, ich komme definitiv nicht wieder und kann dieses Restaurant nicht empfehlen. Schade um die Zeit und den verdorbenen Abend.

Déception et manque de respect envers les clients

Nous avons attendu plus d’une heure pour notre commande — pour finalement recevoir des nouilles crues. Trois tables arrivées 20 minutes après nous ont reçu deux plats chacune bien avant nous.

Les serveurs nous évitent et donnent chaque fois une excuse différente : tantôt la cuisine aurait confondu la commande, tantôt elle l’aurait perdue. L’ambiance est tendue, le personnel ne montre aucun intérêt à résoudre le problème, seulement des justifications. Je parle très bien français, mais on m’a tout de même proposé d’expliquer en anglais — comme si le problème venait de la langue, et non du manque total de service et de respect.

Une expérience très désagréable, je ne reviendrai pas et je ne recommande pas ce restaurant. Temps perdu et soirée gâchée.

Ми чекали на замовлення більше години, у результаті нам принесли сиру локшину. Три столики, які прийшли на 20 хвилин пізніше за нас, отримали по два страви кожен значно раніше.

Офіціанти уникають нас і щоразу розповідають різні версії: то кухня переплутала замовлення, то загубила його. Атмосфера напружена, персонал не зацікавлений у вирішенні проблеми, тільки шукає виправдання. Я спокійно розмовляю німецькою, але мені раптом пропонують пояснити англійською — ніби справа в мові, а не в повній відсутності сервісу та поваги до клієнта.

Дуже неприємний досвід, я сюди більше не прийду і не рекомендую цей заклад. Шкода витраченого часу та зіпсованого вечора.

Разочарование и неуважение к гостям

Ждали заказ больше часа, в итоге принесли сырую лапшу. Три стола, пришедшие после нас на 20 минут, получили свои заказы (по два блюда!) раньше нас.

Официанты бегают от нас и каждый раз рассказывают разные оправдания: то кухня перепутала, то заказ где-то потеряли. Атмосфера напряжённая, персонал не заинтересован решать проблему, а только уходит в оборону. Я вежливо говорю на немецком, но мне вдруг предлагают перейти на английский — как будто дело в языке, а не в полном отсутствии сервиса и уважения к клиенту.

Очень неприятный опыт, больше сюда не вернусь и не рекомендую. Жаль потраченного времени и...

We were so excited to try the ramen here because of the good reviews. We had Karaage and edamame as starters which was good. They told us in advance that our food can take long due to lack of personal in the kitchen. The drinks were on house which was nice! Unfortunately the ramen was totally bland. We all have tasted our soup first and all 4 of us had the same statement. We asked for more chilli oil and soy sauce because it was so bland that we could not enjoy it. The owner has asked us how it was and I told him about the bland food. He apologized and was super friendly about it. He explained that due lack of staff in the kitchen they couldn’t offer the same quality as usual. He even offered us to come back next time and that the food will be on house. I will definitely come back to try their ramen and give them a second chance! 3 stars for the good service. Hopefully we can give 5...
