Restaurant Ganesha — Restaurant in Augsburg

To start on a positive note, the curries aren't actually bad - a bit bland perhaps, and could do with more flavour, but they would earn 3 stars (give or take a bit dependent on what you order).

However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. They seem to have a huge team of servers, as we saw at least 5 different people per 5-6 tables, but sadly none of the waiters are particularly friendly or even polite.

Last time, we decided to share a starter platter (which was a deep-fried disappointment) and as I wasn't very hungry, we also decided to share a curry - which, knowing the portion sizes in Bavaria, shouldn't be a big deal. However, our server let out an audible snort when I said "zum teilen" and asked me three more times (in English, I guess my accent gave it away) what I'm having, despite me having already told him (in German) that we're sharing a main. Finally, he rolled his eyes and walked away, but this is not acceptable. In the age of food waste being a global problem, no-one should be pressured to order extra food they know they won't be...

I and my other 5 colleagues visited this place yesterday for dinner. Staff was friendly. Ambience was good and most importantly food was tasty.

Only one complaint that as an Indian myself I and my Indian colleague could tell that how much food Color was added to each and every dish. We both ate with our hands and when we went to wash them after we finished eating, food Color was still there ok our hands and it was really disappointing for us.

I don’t know why restaurants has to add so much food Color when their food itself is so tasty. Food Color doesn’t enhance flavour and so could 100% avoided. I hope restaurant owner sees my comment and try to avoid using it.

I gave 4 starts because of the food Color, otherwise this place deserves 5 star for the taste.

Proper Indian food in Augsburg. Major point : in the main city area close to hbf. It has outer sitting area too for summer and larger number of guests. Inside, the ambience is proper Indian style restaurants with arts, paintings, and decorations. What I saw, people from many different nationalities visited the place for lunch over 1-2 he, while I was there. Great service and staff well aware of the customer needs. Food was great and can be ordered like other Indian restaurants custom made spicy level to dishes. Would definitely suggest to stop once at this place for a happy meal from variety of dishes.
