The Best Western Hotel Augusta is a place of contrasts, offering both delightful conveniences and notable shortcomings.
Nestled in the heart of Augsburg, the hotel boasts an unbeatable location. From its front doors, the charm of the city unfolds—pedestrian streets, historic landmarks like City Hall, vibrant shopping districts, cozy restaurants, and bustling supermarkets are all within a short walk. For travelers eager to explore, the convenience is unparalleled. Inside, the rooms are spacious, with beds so comfortable they invite you to sink in and let the day's weariness melt away.
Yet, amidst these highlights, certain details cast a shadow on the experience. The rooms, though large, feel sparse—furniture is minimal, and while a space for a fridge exists, the fridge itself is conspicuously absent. A small but significant disappointment was the kettle, which was shockingly dirty and left a sour impression.
Parking, too, presents challenges. While the hotel partners with the "Augusta Parkhaus," this facility doesn’t operate on Sundays, leaving guests to fend for themselves. The parking spaces directly in front of the hotel are convenient but come at a cost of €15 per day, which might feel steep for some. Street parking, meanwhile, is restricted to short-term stays, making it impractical for those planning a longer visit.
Other inconveniences lingered in the background. The windows struggled to keep out the noise from outside, disrupting the peace of the room. The dark carpets, coupled with the absence of slippers, raised subtle concerns about cleanliness, leaving an impression that the room could have been more thoughtfully maintained.
In the end, the Best Western Hotel Augusta is a tale of two sides. Its central location and comfortable rooms shine brightly, but issues with cleanliness, amenities, and parking detract from what could be an exceptional stay. For those who value convenience and can overlook the imperfections, it remains a decent choice...

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. After my first night, I left the 'do not disturb' sign on my door as I did not think it was necessary for my room to be cleaned seeing as I was checking out the next day.
I came back later in the evening to find the cleaner had in fact entered and taken away numerous items including my MacBook Charger, my electric toothbrush and other toiletries. I then queried with the front desk where they had gone. The hotel staff after investigating said their usual procedure was to leave the items with housekeeping at lost and found and to then contact the guest however I was told that it had in fact been misplaced near the bins and it was most likely the case that my items had been thrown away. I was also told that the cleaner must have thought that I had checked out. The hotel staff were able to find two of my toiletries but the rest they had admitted had most likely been lost including the more expensive items.
I had luckily stored my MacBook and other items in the safe/cupboard (which the cleaner had not appeared to have checked) and so these were safe.
I was reimbursed in the end and the lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful. Nevertheless, this has never happened to me before on my travels and the hotel claim it has never happened in their premises before either. In any case, I was highly disappointed with the catalogue of errors which led to the loss of my property which simply could have been resolved by checking that I was staying another night...
Read moreWe had a large room for our 3 night stay in this hotel. Unfortunately, there was a building site on the opposite side of the road to the hotel and it was rather noisy from about 7am on weekdays. Our bedroom was somewhat sparsely furnished with a large sitting area with lots of floor space and one small sofa. The lighting for this area did not work initially, so we were supplied with a standard light, but after the lighting was fixed, this lamp was removed and this meant the room was somewhat dark.||The breakfast room is on the first floor and accessed by either a flight of steps or a very steep ramp. I am unsure how accessible it would be for a wheelchair user. The breakfast buffet was very good - and regularly replenished.||Although the hotel is located a little way from the rail station (which is itself undergoing some modernisation), it is very conveniently located for the main pedestrian area and tourist attractions.||Visitors should note there is no food service other than breakfast in this hotel.||This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in on this trip and we thought we were treating ourselves to a touch of luxury, but this was definitely...
