Wow, wow, wow. I seldom review restaurants but i just had a spectacular, remarkable meal that i was not at all expecting - and from a newly established restaurant. If i listed all the superlatives that come to mind i fear you'd think i was being paid. We had a tradional pankake with shrimp that was so delicious, the intricate flavors bursting forth, the shrimp soft and perfectly cooked and balanced. I love food, but im not a critic, so i lack the words, but it was devine. Same with the chicken yellow curry. Ive eaten at hundreds of asian restaurants, some the best, and its the best ive ever had. This is a Vietnamese restaurant that will absolutely knock your socks off. I would fly from the USA just to have another meal here. And ive only had two glasses of wine. OMG. Are you getting the point.

Zurück aus Frankreich und von der französischen Küche verwöhnt war unser erster Gang in Bad Homburg in das altbekannte Mai Thai Bistro am Kurhaus und Tage später ins neu eröffnete Hoa Sen der Familie Song Toan Vu unweit in der Thomasstraße 5. Respekt! Helle, moderne und angenehme Räumlichkeiten, bequeme Sessel und vor allem viel Platz bietet der große Gastraum. Wie immer superfreundlich und gut gelaunt werden wir von Herrn Vu begrüßt und kurz darauf steht schon eine Suppe und ein Salat auf dem Tisch. Meine Frau ist Asiatin und ich schätze ihre Hühnersuppe sehr, aber das toppt die mit EUR 5,00 angebotene Suppe noch deutlich. Eine ganz feine und vor allem selbstgezogene Brühe mit mageren Brustfiletscheiben, würzigen Kräutern und leichten Nudeln, ein echter Genuß. Der Salat mit Avocado und Papayastücken, Granatapfelkernen und gemischten Wildkräutern überzeugt letztlich durch ein ganz feines Dressing! Danach gabs für meine Frau eine Poke Bowl mit Hühnchen, Jasmin-Reis, Avocado, Mango, Gurken, Karotten und Edamame-Bohnen, wieder sehr fein abgeschmeckt und eine gute Portion für den Mittag. Ich nahm den Vietnamesischen Klassiker, Com Suon Bi Cha, ein mariniertes Schweinenackensteak mit einer Art Omelette (ähnlich einer Tortilla), eingelegten Gemüsen, Jasmin-Reis und Glasnudeln mit geschnittenem, marinierten Fleisch und einer Zitronen-Fischsauce. Geht nicht besser!!! Als kleinen Nachtisch nahmen wir noch einen vietnamesischen Kaffee, den bestellt man am besten schon während des Essens damit er durchlaufen kann. Demnächst probieren wir die große Karte und werden berichten! Fazit, ab jetzt einmal pro Woche ins Bistro und einmal ins Hoa Sen, besser gehts nicht. Qualität, Ambiente und Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmen eben!

Das Deutscheste Asia Restaurant das ich je gesehen habe. In Bad Homburg zum arbeiten dachte ich mir da geh ich doch zum Essen hin 4,9 bei Google! Inneneinrichtung wie in einem 3 Sterne Hotel in Kroatien oder sonst irgendwo Ausländisch. Auf jedenfall null Asia Fler 😂. Ich musste beim Essen daran denken das meine Oma hier auch gegessen hätte und es hätte ihr geschmeckt. Den sie bestellte sonst beim Griechen immer ein Schnitzel. Spaß bei Seite es wirkt im Innenraum wirklich wie in einer Mensa oder in einer Hotel Lobby. Das Essen Vorspeise wan tan Suppe, die wan tan waren safe selbst gemacht aber die Suppe halt total mild und komplett langweilig. Kein Salz, keine Fish Soße oder soya Soße am Tisch. Nichts! Hauptspeise hatte ich den Mango Salat, ja der darf sich so nenen aber auch hier das Huhn langweilig gebraten und so gut wie nicht gewürzt. Man kann es schon Essen aber ich verstehe nicht das hier Leute von fine dining reden. Naja ich hätte mir die Erfahrung lieber gespart.

Finally tried this much-anticipated new restaurant, and it did not disappoint! We walked into a beautiful, light-filled space, perfect for a long, leisurely dining experience. The service was friendly and efficient. I enjoyed a perfectly cooked salmon filet with a generous pile of flavorful roasted cherry tomatoes. My friend had one of the best chicken curries we have ever experienced- a depth and complexity of flavor that was unforgettable!!! The summer rolls were a light and fresh appetizer, complemented by a very tasty hoisin sauce. We ended our meal with an exquisite mango panna cotta and excellent espresso and Vietnamese coffee. This Vietnamese Restaurant HOA-SEN is in the heart of Bad Homburg, really convenient located. We where welcomed very friendly, the atmosphere is a bit cold, because of the very bright lights. Our food was delicious and very creative and nicely decorated. What did disturb us… a few times it was really hard to get hold of the waiter and also some of the staff doesn’t understand German / English so well, that’s why we got two times the wrong drinks.
