A very small hotel in a superb location but, unfortunately, that's where all positives end. Besides the fact that the rooms are tiny, which I personally can accept given the age of the city and the location, the hotel is badly decorated and is in need of a complete renovation: the decor looks like it was last looked at in 1970s. Shared areas are not well cleaned. Room cleaning is not that great either. If you have large or heavy suitcases or even multiple bags, think again before staying here because reception staff at this hotel seems to be shared with restaurant staff and, therefore, you rarely see anyone at reception to get any assistance with anything. Due to the age and size of building, there is no lift in this hotel, so you will struggle to navigate its tight stairwells with your luggage. ||||Rooms are absolutely terrible. The shower head in my room didn't work properly and the only way you can have a shower is by holding the shower above your head yourself. ||||For some bizarre reason, this hotel provides a tiny single duvet for a double bed and there are no usable spares. There was spare duvet in the wardrobe but it didn't have any spare linen to put on it, so using it would be entirely unhygienic if all others use it without bed covers that can be easily washed!||||The rooms are freezing in winter and aren't heated to a satisfactory level.||||Reception closes early, so if you arrive late or check out very early in the morning or middle of the night, you will get no assistance at all. You will need to organise your time such that you catch the receptionist when it's suits them. Whatever you do, don't try to talk to them when the restaurant is busy because you will not get a friendly service with a smile as they need to service the restaurant customers too. ||||If this hotel does get any customers at all, it would all be for its location but, frankly, I would prefer to travel a little further next time in order to stay somewhere...

Read moreDuring our recent lunch at Casa Italia Bamberg, my companions and I were treated to a delightful Italian culinary experience. The restaurant exudes a charming and cozy atmosphere, making it a great spot for a casual meal.
We decided to sample a variety of dishes, starting with the pizza vegetariana. The crust was thin and crispy, just the way we like it, and the toppings were fresh and abundant. The combination of vegetables created a vibrant and satisfying flavor profile.
We also opted for the half-and-half pizza, with one side vegetariana and the other Quattro Formaggi. This allowed us to enjoy the best of both worlds. The Quattro Formaggi side was a cheese lover's dream, with a delectable blend of rich and gooey cheeses that melted in our mouths.
To add more variety to our meal, we couldn't resist trying the Lasagna Vegetariana Al Forno. The layers of pasta were perfectly cooked and the filling was a delightful combination of vegetables and cheese, all baked to perfection. It was a comforting and satisfying dish that left us craving for more.
The service at Casa Italia Bamberg was friendly and efficient. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and provided helpful recommendations. The food arrived promptly, and the portion sizes were generous.
While Casa Italia Bamberg offers a solid Italian dining experience, there were a few aspects that prevented me from giving it an exceptional rating. The flavors, although enjoyable, lacked a certain depth and complexity that would have elevated the dishes to the next level. Additionally, the presentation of the food could have been more visually appealing.
Nevertheless, Casa Italia Bamberg is a solid choice for Italian cuisine in the area. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in the preparation are evident. If you're in the mood for a satisfying meal that captures the essence of Italian flavors, Casa Italia Bamberg is...
