Al Dente — Restaurant in Berlin

Loved our visit to al dente for dinner and I must say it was totally unexpexted. We arrived pretty late at about 9pm and were accommodated by the friendly restaurant team. We ordered pizza, pasta, tiramisu and panna cotta. Enjoyed the yummy meal, cosy atmosphere, and friendly and warm service from our waiter, Afrime (I am sorry if I butchered his name!). He is a wonderful, warm and funny person to communicate with and has quite the depth of knowledge when conversing. Menu items were varied and prices were reasonable. Having dinner here was a great end to our group's visit to Berlin for a short weekend getaway. Would absolutely recommend al dente to anyone looking for a good and cosy Italian...

Been there a couple of times now during lunch break. Friendly Staff. Food is good. Prices are slightly higher than other lunch options but not incredibly so. It's not a standout experience to eat here but it has been a consistently good experience. There is no roll of the dice in terms of staff mood or food quality. There is a cheaper italian restaurant down the street (San Marco) but there the staff is occasionally (not always) a bit bad mannered, with some of my colleagues saying they didn't like the food there.

What I'm trying to say is: If you don't mind paying a euro or or two more, Al Dente is a more consistently good dining experience...

Unser Besuch hatte den Wunsch geäußert italienisch zu essen. Also haben wir uns durch die Suchmaschine inspirieren lassen und sind im Al Dente eingekehrt. Die Reservierung (empfohlen) erfolgt unkompliziert und online. Man bekommt dann per Email eine Bestätigung. Das Ambiente ist modern, chic und gemütlich. Wenn man einen Fensterplatz bekommt kann man sogar das Gewusel auf der Greifswalder Straße beobachten. Die Kellner sind freundlich, aber auf die spezielle italienische Art. Wer schon mal in Rom Urlaub gemacht hat wird das kennen. Ähnlich wie der berliner Charme, wird das gern falsch und als unfreundlich verstanden. Zum Essen: Es gibt zusätzlich zu einer festen Karte, mit Pizza, Pasta und Fleischgerichten, eine liebevoll zusammengestellte Saisonkarte. Wir hatten einen gemischten Salat und Bruschetta als Vorspeise und Papardelle mit Rindfleischspitzen und Pfifferlingen und schwarze Tagliatelle mit gebratenem Zanderfilet als Hauptspeise. Die Pasta ist hausgemacht und alles ist sehr schön angerichtet und einfach nur köstlich. Zum Abschied bekommt man noch einen Schnaps seiner Wahl aufs Haus.
