Bat Viet — Restaurant in Berlin

Family owned business with real traditional food. It's frequented by many Vietnamese people which I estimate a clear sign for authenticity. It's simplistic but cozy interior represents a warm shelter from the busy outside. The food is not filled with with tons of additives and glutamate. It's simply tasty. Noch so eine unentdeckte Perle in Charlottenburg!

Der Laden sieht von außen unscheinbar aus, ich hielt ihn bisher im Vorbeigehen für einen billigen Imbiss, da draußen vor allem die Nudelboxen zum Mitnehmen ins Auge stechen. Tatsächlich handelt es sich aber einfach nur um ein kleines, aber gutes Restaurant.

Heute ging ich wie immer vorbei und hatte Hunger, als mir ein angenehmer Geruch in die Nase stieg. Als ich dann noch sah, dass dort Bun Bo Nam Bo - was sich in den letzten Monaten zu meinem vietnamesischen Lieblingsgericht gemausert hat - im Angebot war, ging ich schließlich hinein und bereute diesen Schritt nicht.

Das Essen war außerordentlich lecker! Es war voll von verschiedenen Aromen, von Limette über Zitronengras, Lauchzwiebeln und Chili bis hin zum Rindfleisch selbst - vorzüglich! Der Salat gibt dem Ganzen noch eine Art "Frische" , während Erdnüsse und geröstete Zwiebeln eher fürs "Knackige" sorgen.

Insgesamt also ein vielseitiger, wahrer Genuss! Und für 6€ (bzw. 5,50 im Angebot) auch noch...

Doesn’t speak English (which is of course okay and expected!) but quite rude to me. Friendly to German-speakers though. I’m of course apologetic for not learning how to speak fluent German for my two-day visit here, just didn’t think the rudeness was appropriate. FYI, they only...
