Bierhaus Urban — Restaurant in Berlin

I went on a Tuesday night to check out the local Gypsy Jazz / Django scene. A group of talented musicians were playing standards at top speed. The almost prolific bass player told me he learned playing "on the streets", almost internal sense of music. Good inexpensive drinks and straight forward bar keep treated all customers to shots that tasted like bloody marys on the house. nice bar with cool live music. but wow! I was taking a video when a man who worked there, and seemed to be a boss or owner, comes up to me and asks "Are you German?" when I replied "No" he says "THEN NO FILMING IN HERE! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!" meanwhile, many other patrons--German, I presume(?)--were filming peacefully. I was so shocked by this blatant hostility and restricting me based on my lack of German nationality? I will obviously never...

Came here on the first day in Berlin; a very warm and friendly place, relaxed and very very friendly, accommodating hosts/staff. A couple of other people joined in the evening, and we had a blast! Prices are really fair, and there is a slice pizza place next to it, so perfect combo. A special thank you to the kind sir who was there that day, for the beer recommendations and corn snacks! 10/10 am...
