Gasthaus Figl — Restaurant in Berlin

I recently dined at Restaurant Figl in Berlin and it was a culinary experience unlike any other. From the moment I walked in and was greeted by the friendly staff, I knew I was in for a treat. The decor was charming and the ambiance was cozy and inviting.

But let's talk about the real star of the show: the food. Oh. My. Goodness. I have never tasted such delicious and expertly prepared dishes in my life. The figl maultaschen were out of this world and the schnitzel was crispy and succulent.

But what really put this restaurant over the top was the dessert. The figl strudel was so good, I swear I saw angels singing and dancing.

Decent pizza but the service ruined the entire experience for our group completely. It was unfriendly to say the least, even for Berlin standards. Maybe the reason was that most of us spoke English, since the waitress only talked and looked at people who spoke German. Even minor details like asking to add/omit something from the pizza, change a drink and pack leftovers (they didn’t. she just threw the pizza out) was not allowed for our group. Everything we asked was welcomed with the biggest RBF I have seen in the service industry in a while.

I wouldn’t personally recommend as you can get same level pizza from other places in Berlin and actually enjoy your time.

Figl is a warm restaurant with Austrian origins, but the menu is a little different than the typical schnitzel stuff you might expect. they feature several pizza types a little off the usual Italian selection, nice salads and two types of mussels (and other stuff I don't remember).
