I’m in a bad mood because I visited here this morning having been a firm regular for the past few months trying to support them throughout all the lockdowns. The guy behind the till knows me and knows that I take plenty friends, colleagues, dates etc so I thought he would find it funny that I went alone today. Anyway it was a different guy behind the counter. I also told him that I keep requesting the cinnamon rolls because they’re really good. He said in order to make them they need a member of staff in every day whereas the current menu allows for one member of staff to come in approx 3 days a week to do all the baking. I said they didn’t need to be sold every day just on a Friday or something, but that’s why people go there!
His attitude was really quite rude and he didn’t even reply to me, and instead turned his back on me to do something and ignored me. I asked him if he was the owner, he was.
I felt like he would’ve offended me less if he had just said “I don’t care about the opinions of the cafe customers”.
I walked away wondering why on earth I cycle miles to visit this place regularly, to support the business, when the owner can’t even be friendly with me/ or laugh about it/ or ask me about the other products/ whatever. I’m of the opinion, if you don’t know who your regulars are, treat everyone like a regular and ask the customers a question that will help you figure out their loyalty to your brand.
Today Bully’s Bakery lost my custom.
Oh, and for what it’s worth when I walked in he sighed.
Great cinnamon rolls, cool baker and barista, my mam said the coffee was good, nice...
Read moreThe place looks very nice aesthetically but they could be hygienically more committed. The fridge keeping the cakes on the right has no door, so anybody walking around or sitting next to it, contributes to the bacteria share on the cakes (if a door for the fridge is too much, then a glass bell for the cakes?). Moreover croissants and other bakery stuff is simply displayed on the counter where you interact with the staff (talk, make payments -exchanging money above the food-) and this is disgusting. Croissants are overpriced for...
Read moreNo matter where I go and I see a place is packed I wonder why. I want to understand the concept and why people are going there.
In this particular case it's quite simple. You don't come here because of a nice interior design, super cosy atmosphere or anything like that. The only reason this place is being packed day in day out is because of the quality of food they are delivering. The prices are fair and the cake is a solid peace of art. Simple and tasty. As...
