Cafe Hermann Eicke — Restaurant in Berlin

I used to go here and I used to like it. Sunday is a busy day, but I don't think it is ok that we waited more than 20 minutes for our table to be cleaned and at the end, my friend and I cleaned it. I did go to the waitress and ask them politely if they could clean it and they said "yes, sure" but it just didn't happen. 2 Plates, 3 cups, cutlery. Whole little tables was full of dirty dishes. Then, my friend waited for more than 20 minutes for decaf cappuccino. Twice they brought orders that were for some other table, at the end, they said decaf machine is broke and she got some different drink. They need more staff. Everything is chaotic, disorganized... and the silliest part is that once you order, you leave a tip. So we left the tip, got a dirty table, and waited over 20 minutes for order that at the end could not be made. Waited more than 10 min for alternative drink.... we talk about more than 30min for a coffee? Hello? it is just not worth it... better enjoy your time...

Not a bad place, but lacks attention to details, especially in food. For example, for around 18 euro for you get an avo tost dish, but

Side salad is not properly washed (had few soil grains) Poached eggs are overcooked (turned out to be on a hardboiled side) Avo is very mediocre, with little brown stains No oil / lemon suggested for a salad or avo - it's just makes the dish super dry and tasteless

The bottom line is that with the same set of products (which are not bad in general, and some parts - like bread - are great!), but a bit more care and attention you could provide a completely different level of food experience.

Without it price/quality ratio is a bit...

A perfect and quaint experience at Herman Eicke!

I went for a solo brunch at Hermann Eicke on my last day in Berlin.

The interiors were clean and there were many spaces to sit. I noticed a few guests were working from their laptops; so I could sense the vibe here was a nice place to chill but also work if you needed to.

Service was fast and professional! I opted for the Avocadotoast and added a poached egg. It was brilliant! Fresh, tasty and vibrant. It exceeded my expectations!

I also got an orange immune booster to just perk me up! It was tasty too!

Price is just right, you get quality food for what you pay for! Plenty of options on such a simple...
