Hotel Grenzfall — Hotel in Berlin

Having stayed here before and been very pleased, we were sorry to be very disappointed this time. Due to staffing problems, the restaurant and bar were both closed for the duration of our 3 night stay. The facilities we required, were therefore not available, and not as advertised, when making the booking. I complained and asked for some form of compensation, like free breakfast, but was told they could not do that as breakfast was available. I then asked for half price breakfast, but was told no, management will not do that, as its available, they said they would leave something in our room,instead. On return to our room, they had left two bottles of beer, a bag of crisps, a bag of nuts and a small bowl of fresh fruit. That was all we received,just that one evening. Nothing on the other two days we were still there. It did spoil our holiday, as we then had to leave the hotel to find food for lunch and evening meals and to find a bar that was open, instead of being able to enjoy the hotel I had booked and its facilities, as advertised. The bistro attached to the hotel was kept open, but this just serves coffee, cakes, sandwiches etc, which is where the chefs were to be found, being a fast food snack option for tourists, instead of the hotel residents comfort, meals and expectations being priority. It was very disappointing, as having eaten in the restaurant inside the hotel on our last visit, I knew the meals were good, and was looking forward to them, and the bar and restaurant terrace is very nice, but we could not experience it this time with it...

We arrived at the hotel at approx 11.30am on a Saturday for a 2 night stay. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff and despite being a bit early for a check in, there was a room ready for us straight away which was great. Our room was spotlessly clean and was nice and spacious. The bathroom was well equipped with towels, shower gels etc. On the second day after getting back to the hotel after some sight seeing, the hotel room was once again impeccably clean. We did not avail of the breakfasts on offer however as we eager to get out and about! The hotel itself is ideally located. It is literally across the road from the Berlin Wall and a short train journey from the Brandenburg Gate. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and if I ever go to Berlin again, I will definitely...

location is nice, right down the street from berlin wall memorial - close to some trams , a lil walk to the trains but walkable. overall had a good stay.. i would have preferred a 2 twin put together, rather than 2 twins separate on opposide side of room.. still worked - at night thought youd need to swipe your key to get in.. weird I ddnt need to do that on Saturday night but Sunday night I did, and wasnt told so , so I had to figure out on my own as the front desk person was ignoring me, probably thought im some homeless lol......
