Caphe Hoa 2 — Restaurant in Berlin

INCREDIBLE FOOD WITH A SMILE *

Stating a favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Berlin is like pointing out the best parking space in an empty lot: there are so many and they’re all kind of the same.

Except, Caphe HOA 2 is that rare parking space on its own, with no cars either side and it’s right next to the door of where you’re going.

None of that really makes any sense, but neither does the following, where I’m going to review a man’s smile rather than the food he is serving:

I’ve been to Caphe HOA 2 three times, and on each occasion I was mesmerised by how happy the server is. He’s got the vibe of owning the place, along with the super cool and casual lady that works with him, and he’s always smiling. As I eat my incredibly tasty dishes, I often imagine them as a couple, going home at night to celebrate a great day at work. (In my head, they return to Vietnam every evening.)

The truth is, they probably hate each other and never speak outside of work because running an amazing vegan place like that is so stressful. Either way, those are just made up thoughts in my mind. What isn’t made up, is the entirely vegan menu and how awesome it all is.

My vegan friend brought me to this restaurant to celebrate my BDAY!! He said it was his fav VEGAN restaurant. A lot of expectations but the food didn’t disappoint!! I absolutely LOVED my dish, the vegan chicken was so CRISPY and the flavour INCREDIBLY delicious!! The salad and the rice were a great companion and the portions were generous. The chicken looked like a vegan version of Pekín Duck, and I am glad no ducks were enslaved, tortured and killed to reach this appetising flavour. Really CONGRATULATIONS on your creativity and innovative approach! I’ll be back again....

BEST CRISPY VEGAN DUCK... EVER!

Oh wow, just wow. I am sure the staff and place was nice, but what I truly notice is the food. And this one is a gem. I have been searching for years after a proper Crispy vegan duck.

This was both perfectly crisp, tender inside, and the seasoning summed it all into a soulfuel experience. I struggle a lot with any vegan sub meat that has just the slightest aftertaste of soy, this one... if it is mock duck, they really...
