Imren Grill is a chain of six Anatolian Turkish restaurants scattered around Berlin. It's telling there are lots of Turks and other lovers of real Turkish food in every Imren where I've eaten. There's a simple reason for this: the food is unbelievably delicious (and cheap!) and you cannot find it in the vast majority of other Turkish restaurants and döner kebab joints in Berlin. My wife introduced me to Imren: if she could, she'd eat at an Imren Grill every day of her life. I've taken people from Colombia there. They loved it, comparing it to the Lebanese-Colombian food in their hometown of Baranquilla. The food is amazing, the price is low and the plates are enormous. I suggest you taking the ‘menu’ plates with real food, not those which we call ‘doner kebab’. The meat is delicious the sauces are good and the veggies are all fresh. All said, the prices are also good. It is a sort of self service that’s on offer in this small shop with some 10-12 tables, but there is free Turkish tea on offer and that’s great in itself.
