Iāve been a big fan since 2017. Even after recently moving from Berlin to Switzerland I still visit on a monthly basis. I liked the ribs and overlooked the wider shortcomings. However, that changed last night. The waiter who mostly serves my groups is a poor communicator, absent-minded and indifferent to anything resembling critical feedback. The main issues my group encountered last night regarding the food couldāve been easily resolved by him. Itās best to speak to the guys behind the counter if you feel dissatisfied with your experience at any point. Their response surpassed reasonable expectations and I will remain a customer, though much less frequent and a fervent fan, as a result.
That said, I unfortunately do not recommend booking to mark any special moments, host anyone youād like to impress or expect above a basic-level of service. I often experience 10+ minutes wait times on Saturdays despite always having a reservation and thereās unfortunately no apology. The waiters are generally inattentive and inpatient perhaps because itās super busy on Saturdays. Thereās a strong exclusionary ābro cultureā masked as friendliness. The music is good but too loud. Too many people from different reservations are seated at a table and compete to be heard. Youāll be freezing seated in front the busy door during cold months. Our vaccination certificates were not checked. Most critical, the food quality is steadily declining.
Edit: Google requested proof of my fair and factual review to avoid its removal. Luckily I had proof. However, I see that other reviewers were also contacted. If reviewers don't respond to the email within 7 days or can't provide evidence, their reviews are deleted. I imagine the restaurantās star rating may drop significantly with these removed negative reviews. It is disappointing that after over a year the negative reviews seem to remain the same and trending more negative. I liked the restaurant and hope they could turn it around nonetheless.
Message I received that was sent to Google: The reviewer āR Bā is not known to my client; at no time was there a business relationship between my client and āR Bā. This review contains content and is causing significant harm to me. Unless the reviewer can provide evidence of a business-defamatory relationship with my client to prove his claims, this review must be deleted in...

Pros:
Genuine Flavors: The distinct smoky aroma and robust flavors of the meats reflect the meticulous dedication to the art of traditional American barbecue, transporting patrons to the heart of the Southern United States. Cozy Ambiance: The rustic, yet inviting interior, complete with wooden accents and dim lighting, sets the perfect stage for an intimate dining experience, ideal for both casual gatherings and memorable celebrations. Attentive Service: The attentive and knowledgeable staff members effortlessly enhance the dining experience, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and well-cared for. Cons:
Waiting Times: Given its well-deserved popularity, expect a moderate wait time during peak hours. However, the mouthwatering aromas drifting from the kitchen will undoubtedly make the wait worthwhile. Limited Vegetarian Options: While the menu boasts an array of carnivorous delights, vegetarians might find the selection somewhat limited. However, the few available vegetarian options are prepared with the same attention to detail and flavorful finesse. For a truly immersive experience, I suggest trying their signature slow-smoked brisket, paired with a side of their delectable mac and cheese. Complement this hearty feast with a refreshing craft beer or a classic bourbon cocktail to elevate the flavors and embrace the genuine spirit of American...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food and service here was amazing, especially compared to the service level at other German (or European) restaurants. Iām from Chicago, so Iām fortunate enough to have access to great restaurants and service.
I come several times a year to visit my boyfriend and we end up going to many nice restaurants. I learned quickly that because Europeans pay a livable wage and tips are not a social expectation, servers can be more laidback and easy-going with the atmosphere. I come with the expectation of being ignored and that the restaurant is a great place to socialize, so food is only a pleasant surprise.
I absolutely felt like it was personalized service and that the server was enjoying his day, while providing excellent service. Itās really nice to see that Chicago Williamās staff seemed happy and were attentive. On the plus side, the brisket was excellent. The Buffalo fried chicken sandwich was excellent as well. The coleslaw was a little saltier, but the still balanced. Their French fries were amazing. I donāt even really like BBQ and fried foods are more of a treat, but I know my boyfriend loves BBQ and fried things. I definitely fought him for bites of the fried chicken sandwich.
ABSOLUTELY COME AND TRY THEIR FOOD. Their cocktails are also great. The pandan mule was perfect and Iāll...
