SEPHORA BERLIN CITY CENTER — Local services in Berlin

I had the best time I ever had in any Sephora (incl. France, Czech republic and Italy) right here in Berlin! And it's all thanks to Aimilia, a wonderful makeup artist, esthetician and nail tech. She treated me not just like a customer, but like a fellow makeup artist, even though I really am just getting into makeup and consider myself a beginner. I was not afraid or insecure at all asking her all the stupid questions. But the most important thing is: She is honest! Not trying to push anything to you and having fun recommending the best products for your specific needs.

The new Sephora store itself is really nice with the two floors. It's less hectic shopping there and It's also really really clean! The employees are constantly making sure of it. I know how much hard work that is, so I appreciate it. You can also tell that the whole sales team treat each other well by the way they talk to each other, which contributes so much to a good store atmosphere. I came an hour before closing so a few product testers were empty or almost empty but that's okay. Prefer this store to the other ones in Berlin. Now they just need to add a treatment room in the basement it it would...

I went in looking for a skin tint that I saw on TikTok. Of course, I got distracted.

I had a question and Rute very kindly helped me find the lip liner I was looking to compare. She wasn’t pushing me to buy anything, but rather we had a lovely and informed conversation about products we liked and disliked. She really listened to what I was looking for and made great suggestions. She also encouraged me to try out some of the products and sanitized them thoroughly for me, which I really appreciated. I ended up buying a makeup forever skin tint, a makeup forever lip liner and a summer fridays lip balm. I have tested them for a few days now and am super happy with the products.

Thanks to Rute for being so knowledgeable, kind and time efficient. I will definitely come back and purchase more of her recommendations.

And also thanks to the girl at the cash register who was so patient when I couldn’t remember if I had signed up to collect points and helped me figure that out.

Visited here for the first time, if you’re from elsewhere, (e.g. another country who’s had standalone Sephora stores for decades) for Sephora standards it’s average — but much better than the Alexanderplatz location, and will suffice. A few things I noticed: The staff weren’t as helpful or friendly as you would typically expect in a Sephora. I did chat with one member, who was kind but wasn’t able to provide me with the information I needed.

The other thing was — the amount of people I saw directly applying makeup to their faces was unbelievable. I’m talking mascara from the tester bottle directly on eyes, and concealer directly on skin.

I looked around to see if I could find the tester mascara wands, etc., around and didn’t see many, if any. Staff should inform customers on how to actually use testers, and more sanitary measures should be put in place to enable a better tester and shopping experience.
