disclaimer: this story is based on true facts :)
this is not a bot. i am not an âambassadorâ from any liquor company and i have not received any hidden payments or any free drinks. in fact, i have (happily) heavily invested into many liquid sensations here and i doubt that the owner knows whoâs writing these lines. and, bloggers&writers&drinkfluencers, sry for my ignorance, iâm not one of those crowds. this is my FIRST google comment ever, and i hope itâs gonna be my last.
finally, in contrast to some writers here, iâve had the pleasure & privilege to gather longitudinal data since the opening days of this bar - silently âsamplingâ by sipping & observing & enjoying myself - constantly, regularly but (important) randomly, over the last years. meaning: my data basis is rich, solid & statistically significant.
i had the pleasure to visit many professional cocktail bars internationally and compare the art (and bizz) of bartenders. this is my own âground truthâ that i never intended to share. why? because i wanted to keep this little diamond secret & keep it for me. but here i am, coming out in order for others to calibrate other comments here.
after this long prelude, let me make it very short: i have not seen/experienced such combination of high-level cocktail quality, attention to details (from drinks/creations, to selection of names in the menue, to the art, ambience, music and to each guest), gastfreundschaft, and last not least THE UNBELIEVABLY UNPREDICTABLE MUSIC UNIVERSE that is being played by the chef himself in the same quality, with the same joy & artistry that he serves his guests. likely you wonât find THIS HIGH-LEVEN COMBINATION anywhere else. punkt.
i can only say thank you for creating & running such an alice-in-wonderland place named hildegard. thank you for sharing yr joy & energy with us. i sincerely hope your guest will continue to enjoy this not-so-secret-anymore place on earth.
chapeau & keep up the...
Read moreThe bar and the cocktail are ok; the table service is wonderful. Despite it, your experience can be quite disappointing . For example, my friends who were sitted at the bar, they stood up to say hello to us. The bar tender came, took their coat (without advising them), and make other people sit. I said "sorry but my friends are sitted there". The answer was "ma che cosa vuoi" - a very rude way to say " so what do you want" (his accent was not Italian). I tried to explain to him once again that these sits were occupaied. So, I said "so your new customers can sit because they are German?". He turned is back and left my friends without a place to sit. The ladies in charge of the table service tried their best to mitigate but it is not possible to mitigate any form of racism; I cannot find another word to define what we experienced. So, we finished our drinks as fast as possible and we left. To sum up, it is a nice bar but your experience can be really bad. I hope that this review can make those people think about their behaviour and maybe act differently with "no-germans", because everyone deserves the...
Read moreBeen here on the Christmas Eve, the only good thing was the interior. The drinks were below average, one was too sweet, dry martini was a pure gin with a dash of vermouth, bad balance. There was a cucumber water in a jar with glasses on a bar stand which appeared to be alcohol. When we realized it was not water, bartenders told us that âitâs not for usâ and that we should pay for it, then including it in the bill. When we asked why, it appeared that âwe have a problem here, please donât come backâ. The customer service was terrible, same as the overall experience. This place should not be on the list of discoveries in Berlin in the list of...
