We stayed at this hotel in room 709. Overall, we really liked the hotel. The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom was especially impressive — very large, with a separate shower and bathtub, as well as two sinks. The breakfast was good, although the selection was not very extensive. However, all the products were fresh and of excellent quality. The girl who made omelets stood out in particular — always friendly, and her omelets were simply delicious. The coffee was also very good.||However, there were a few things that spoiled the overall impression. First, the room had very poor soundproofing. The footsteps of the neighbors upstairs were so loud that it sometimes felt like they were walking right in our room. This caused discomfort and disrupted our rest.||Another serious issue was the housekeeping on the last day of our stay, January 2. Dirty cups, glasses, and wine glasses were left on the table. The trash bins in the bathroom and room were not emptied and were completely full. I contacted the reception desk to request cleaning and replacement of the dishes. Upon returning to the room, I discovered that the trash was still there. The glasses had been taken, but no cups were provided. Instead, they left one wine glass and three regular glasses.||I called reception again and explained that our room had a coffee machine, but no cups were provided. The staff insisted that cups are only available for rooms with coffee machines. After I clarified that we did have a coffee machine, cups were finally brought an hour later, but without any apologies — they were just handed to me quickly, and the staff member left.||Additionally, the deposit of 100 euros taken at check-in has still not been returned, even though it has been almost a month since our departure. This adds to the frustration and disappointment.||This incident significantly affected our impression of the service. When returning to your room, you expect it to be clean, tidy, and fully prepared for relaxation, without concerns about unreturned deposits.||That said, I must note that the housekeeping on all previous days was excellent, and the restaurant staff left a very positive impression. Read moreUpdate on our 2018 week long stay Everything was almost perfect until checkout and then the fatal flaw reappeared - the Reception/Checkout desk staff - who blithley contradict each other, especially with regard to what benefits Accor customers are entitled to. Requests for clarification are greeted with rudeness (the benefits were explained to us at our next stay, on the same day, at an Accor hotel in Hannover easily and politely). Reception staff at Sofitel Berlin have a strange idea regarding hotel guests. They seem to regard us as their inferiors, who can be lectured to as if they are naughty children. Maybe they need to be reminded that it's the guests who pay their wages. This hotel has failed to please twice in a row, so now maybe we find elsewhere to stay in Berlin and spend our thousands of euros elsewhere next year.
Excellent Hotel. Beautifully laid out and clean. The rooms are very comfortable and well thought out, they are above average in size. The buffet breakfast is one of the best we have had on our travels. Excellent secure underground parking. Superb location with access to shops and many good restaurants. Excellent concierge service arranged for my car to be cleaned, collected and returned.
The only drawback was a mix-up where breakfast should have been included and was not. This was on a week plus stay. We were caught between booking agency and Sofitel management. The high handed manageress, seemed to have difficulty telling guests from hotel staff, mis-handled the situation completely and reversed decisions made by her colleagues. However despite this we will be returning again this year and look forward to giving them a second chance. All other staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

Read moreWe stayed here during June 21st to 25th 2019, total 4 nights. I was surprised how close it was from Zoologischer garten station. 5 min walk from station. We came 1,5 hour earlier than check in time which is at 3 PM and they allow us to have a room right away. What a great service!
The room was large. I booked the 2nd lowest from the price list. This was our 1st stay at Sofitel brand. They have everything needed in the room. Air condition works perfectly. 3rd night I was able to find right setting for air condition. They have new Samsung type Led tv. I was able to stream movies, pics ..etc. from my phone to tv (mirror screening) works same way like Google Chromecast. Shower water pressure was strong. They have large mirror in the bathroom. I didn't try bath. I was able to sleep well. No noise coming to our room. We stayed at room 528. Room was also clean everyday. They have also nespresso if you want free coffee, tea, cocoa and bottle of water(you receive this only once).
We didn't try their breakfast because it was too pricey for us but we tried Vapiano restaurant which is next to the hotel. There were lots of nice restaurants to visit like Five guys(hamburger and shakes), Subway, etc. I was surprise that Taiwanese bubble tea place was next to our door. We also had few drinks at their bar with great DJ music.
Location wise this was the best hotel in Berlin. If you like shopping and eating great food you need to choose this hotel. It was also 1st time in my travelling history that I didn't use taxi at all. Only use excellent and easy to use public transport.
