A nice cozy restaurant just around the corner from Boxi. The waiters are friendly, but inattentive. Unfortunately all of our food was cold when it arrived and did not taste great. The Dervish set was a good option which tasted fine even though it was cold, along with the salads. The kofta set was bland and cold even though it was served in iron skillets on a wooden board, so one would expect the dishes to be piping hot. Somehow the lentil soup, served in an iron bowl was also cold. The bread was fine, but nothing great. The desserts were tasty, especially the Samarkandi halva and the Forish puff pastry cake. The puff pastry seemed slightly stale, but I was just glad it tasted good. A tip for the waiters: pay more attention to the table with kids. We had to wait for several minutes to get the attention of the waiters, even though the dining area is a small room serving about 15 tables with 4 waiters present. I had to ask for the bill multiple times, and they forgot to take the money once the bill was paid, so I had to go to the kitchen to pay them and leave, because by that point my kids were getting very sleepy. They do not accept cards, so remember to take cash, and a lot of it, because this place is quite expensive, which is not warranted for the food they serve and the service they provide....
Read moreAfter the experience at that restaurant you start thinking that cooking at home makes sense. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
Food: We got the plate for two after recommendation of the service and we didn't like any plate. Tasteless, not even the hummus were tasting like hummus. Dumplings with strange filling, lentils ball that were not tasting like lentils. Tasteless pita's and some kind of pasties. Very awkward.
Service: We asked if the place of two is a lot for to people, they said no, in the end was way too much food to waste. They brought us wrong drink, didn't even bother to ask us if we would like to have the drink that we originally ordered after pointing it out. We asked to have the rest foor packed and they brought us plastic boxes to pack ourselves. No problem with that, but didn't see any service in all this.
Price: Very expensive for tasteless vegetables.
Atmosphere: Ok.
To your answer: Calling me ironically "sipmply true culinary critic" and "ungrateful"?! Thank you. Seems you accept only 5 stars critic. It was just my honest opinion. 4.9 stars in google is very...
Read moreTruly an incredible experience. The owner spent a long time at the table with me, even though I arrived alone. I was in Berlin for the evening, knowing no one. And really, the energy from the moment you enter this restaurant is amazing. For me, the cuisine is genius. Because when you look at it, usually, dishes are packed with meat. But here, you get all the flavor, actually, but also all the health benefits. You leave, in fact, with your stomach vibrating with life. From A to Z, the decor, the waiter, the person who owns the restaurant, his wife, it's something that's family-managed, it's luminous. Honestly, no matter the situation, I recommend this restaurant because it can only be a top-notch experience. Truly, it's something to do. I find it genius because there are a lot of restaurants inspired by a place, people who actually manage to invent their own approach and give their DNA in their cooking while being inspired, in fact, by their origins. It's genius. So really, it's an experience everyone should have. Thank You again for this...
