Disgusting!! Hair on the plate, dog pee on the floor!! Not even worth 1 Star! We chose this Cafe based on the previous reviews but it was absolutely disappointing. First it took forever to be seated most of the staff members simply ignored us / were too busy chatting to each other. When finally someone told us „we could sit wherever“ we chose a smaller booth in the back area just for a guy to come over and inform us (very rude) that we should choose the smaller tables even tho there was another couple sitting in the booth next to us and the cafe was almost empty, so we moved over to the very small and uncomfortable tables. Not only was the hard wooden bench uncomfortable since there were no pillows or cover but there were also dogs sitting directly at the table, we love dogs but this is just unhygienic. The terrible hygiene in this place was confirmed by finding dog pee on the floor and human hair on our plate. We should have left after waiting at the door way too long for an empty cafe. There are so many other, way better places in that area where you don’t have to risk your health.

I had a strong latte and the fruit granola bowl. The coffee was great and the latte was a good size, not one of those massive glasses that gets served in Europe where all you taste is milk (I did get a double shot). The granola and yoghurt bowl that I had was also very good. The fruit was well ripened and sweet, and the granola was very tasty and had nice flavours of cinnamon and other warm spices and a good crunch. The yoghurt was not too tart and the flavours all balanced and mixed well together. There was a nice addition of some baby basil leaves which cut through the sweetness and added a unique fragrance and flavour to the dish. Definitely one of the better granola bowls I have had. The service was good, you scan a QR code on your table to view the menu but order with the wait staff who come to your table. They are all well spoken in English. The atmosphere is nice. It reminded me of an upmarket Australian brunch spot. The bathrooms were clean and so was the venue. Would I recommend you try this place? Yes Would I come back here? Yes

Silo used to be among the cafes I visited regularly. Today I visited it with three friends the Cafe. Pro's: good menu, also changing amongst seasons and options for vegans and veggies. The decor is pretty cool too and the coffee is well done. No lactose free option, but silo offers both oat and soy as alternative. Coffee is decently priced Good portion size and taste is pretty decent too Cons: whenever you go, you will be certainly welcomed by a) a big queue that is b) somewhat unorganized. Despite signing up with your name and being told you have to wait a while, it is possible that skippedeeskippers skip the line or that you end up waiting longer. Also service is a bit mixed: team is kind, catered to an international audience but unfortunately a bit slow and I feel they can do a better job at letting customers know when their table is ready. Not very wheel chair friendly The add on options to a meal are a bit pricey

Some time ago I’ve had a rather mediocre banana bread and a cappuccino which was nothing special as well. We loved the previous cafe at the same spot some years ago and wanted to try this one out. Prices were high, quality at a medium okay level. Also, Living in Berlin I would have expected that the service people could speak at least some German, but they didn’t. They claim on their homepage that they were the first specialty coffee in Friedrichshain which is just not true. But with only tourists around there is obviously nobody to say whether it’s true or not. Take it from me, I’ve been around for over 20 years. Anyway, I decided to give it a new try and reserve a table for this weekend to try out breakfast with a friend. According to the website they don’t take reservations so I decided on another location in the end. I just popped by this morning and imagine, there were at least 3 reserved tables at the sidewalk. I really wouldn’t recommend this...
