Worst restaurant experience we’ve ever had
My fiancé and I were looking for a place to have our wedding dinner and thought about trying this place. The interior looked nice and the dishes sounded promising.
I ordered „RISOTTO PORCINI E FICHI“ (Risotto with porcini mushrooms, walnuts and figs in a red wine reduction and parmesan reduction) for 19€, my fiancé the „MONTANARA TRIS“ (fried mini pizza with Ragout Napoletano; mortadella and stracciatella and tomatoes and parmesan) for 13€.
When the food finally came (we had to wait for about an hour and a half) we couldn’t believe our eyes. The risotto was about 5 tablespoons big. The Montanara tris missed the main part of the dish: the ragout. It was just three pieces of deep-fried pizza dough with some toppings - for 13(!) €. When we asked, where the ragout was, we were told that today they have no ragout to offer and that the menu changes everyday a bit.
We then asked, if the price would stay the same. Instead of apologizing for the mistake of the restaurant, the waitress told us that we could check ourselves in the kitchen, they had no ragout and the price would stay the same.
So, instead of handling the situation politely and offering a reasonable price, they chose to just ignore us. After our complaint, she just left and came only back, when we asked for the bill.
Unfortunately we didn’t make a picture of the ridiculously small portions, but we were very hungry and therefore double disappointed. Needless to say, we of course won’t host our wedding dinner at a...
Read moreFirst dropped by randomly on a busy Sunday afternoon and I was seated after a few minutes. The staff seemed really busy, but the place was quite full so I could be patient. I ordered the Bufalina pizza, it was ok but dough was not really to my taste (not doughy enough, bit more on the crispy/tough side). The desserts I wanted were not available so I skipped. I asked for some olive oil for the crusty bits, which seemed like a confusing request. Someone brought it for me, but after a few minutes, a waiter came by and took it without even asking me about it.
I went by again during a very quiet lunchtime service. There were three wait staff; even though there were only three tables occupied during the whole lunch time, I have to say service was abysmal. They were friendly but were not attentive at all and each time we wanted to order a drink or dessert or get the bill, we had to really try to make eye contact and then wave frantically to get attention. This was really disappointing. This time we had the pasta ragu and another pizza; both were OK. Nothing incredible, and honestly the meat in the ragu was a bit tough. I could not believe that was cooked for "24 hours" as mentioned in their menu. Flavour was nice but too subtle. Again, not all desserts were available. I was so let down by this. I tried the baba with pistachio but it didn't taste like other babas I've had and there was not really a pistachio flavour present.
I had high hopes for this place; I would go back if the...
Read moreI am very sorry to give only one star. I can’t actually rate the food because the pizza I ordered never arrived at our table. My friend was served his food, and we thought mine would be coming up soon. By the time he had finished, it still hadn’t. We could have inquired earlier, but it didn’t occur to me my order could have been forgotten, and we were in conversation. After we asked the waiter, multiple of the staff came up saying the food was on its way and they had an issue with the oven. Meanwhile, I see people who sat down less than ten minutes ago being served the pizza I had ordered! We asked multiple times, and were told that the pizza was on the way, that there were other customers needed to be served as well (I had been there 1.5h without getting my pizza…). In the end, we had another engagement and needed to leave. I also did not want to wait anymore for food that I was told is ready, when it wasn’t. I was given a box full of fried food bites they offer (that was very good, though I was also very hungry at that point, so my judgement might not be the best on that), and we left. Did not pay for these or the pizza, but our drinks and my friend’s food.
I would have appreciated a proper apology, and not excuses. It’s okay to forget my order. I don’t understand, why it wasn’t the next one made, but I had to sit and see other people being served for...
