Great location, with large outdoor terrace. Watching Euro Cup 2024 matches was possible outdoors, but not after Germany got eliminated from the tournament unfortunately 🥺 Have been here a few times, to drink and eat.
While the snacks and beer were ok with no complaints personally, our table unfortunately left with a bad taste after the latest visit, from the experience of dining and drinking while watching the Euro Cup match indoors. Even after ordering food and drinks well worth 100+€, tap water was denied after receiving two small glasses together with the alcoholic drinks (while it was very warm indoors, as theboutdoor temperatures were still above 27c+ during evening sunset hours). To me, this unfortunately sounds unreasonable, as tap water is and should be free for paying customers, especially when requested alongside other paid items such as drinks & food. While most other restaurants provide tap water free of charge, usually either by caraff in the table or from a dispenser at the restaurant, this is not the case in this restaurant.
While paying for water doesn't break anyones budget, it is unfortunate and unreasonable that greed comes into play from the business's side as an potential excuse to sell more expensive bottled water or drinks. Left the otherwise great evening with a bad feeling, and a shame that greed from business's side to earn a few extra euros, will now result in a group of people probably never entering this restaurant and bar again (resulting in way more loss of revenue to the restaurant than providing a few glasses of tap water) 🥺 May it be a lesson in hospitality and marketing, where customer is always right, and service should be provided with flexibility, not woth strict rules in mind (such as free tap water wouldn't be served to anyone).
P.s. I was still allowed to and drinking from my own water bottle openly in the table, which was apparrently allowed, while providing tap water from the...
Read moreBeen here a few times for after work meet ups as it is well connected with Mehringdamm being nearby. The seating and atmosphere is just right to not feel one has to whisper nor is acoustic making others sound too loud. Food fits the Berlin craft beer scene's manner to serve great quality ingredients in 'simple food' (burgers, local food as in bread slices with cut sausages) for a slightly higher price. The Hamburg Ratsherrn brewery's variation are great and there is a wide selection of other international and local breweries' beer as well. The staff is usually very well informed when introducing to the broad variety, what i would expect in craft beer places. No complaints therefore. Just one thing : money collections and or begging should not be allowed in...
Read moreWonderful beer, great place, but unfortunately, we must express a total disappointment after a disrespectful behavior, sadly worsening in this city, of people with no interest in treating regular customers properly. We showed up at 21:43, with closing time set at 23, last round was already finished, and we just asked for a quick beer, since we took taxis to get there asap, and had friends coming over from the other side of the city, specifically because of how much we love this place.
We just got asked to leave with a "we make the rules, not Google". I mean, We get that... You close earlier if the evening is going slow, but come on: 1h.15 min before? With 3 regular customers asking a quick beer?
We just hoped for a different kind of treatment and...
