(Review for the new Hasir on the corner - not the older one attached) Worse Manager ever & super rude waiter. I got a "recycled" dish. The waiter brought my dish to another table to a couple sitting in front of me and I noticed this because it looked like the dish I ordered.. I somehow had a feeling he made a mistake and looked at what happened on... after a good 10 minutes and without knowing how much the other customer 'fiddled' with my dish, they presumably decided the dish was not theirs and proceeded to notify the waiter. The waiter took it from their table and presented me with it as if it was the most normal of things to do. - Now.. I wouldnt have a problem if the dish would be rejected by the customer straight away but it literally stayed with them for 10 minutes. After the initial shock of what just happened, I notified the waiter about this (The tall one with white hair) he walked away. I then got up to speak to the Manager of the restaurant to explain just what happened. His English knowledge was extremely limited but he managed to get very angry with me when I asked to have another dish as the one I received stayed with other customers for a very long time.. He raised his voice and told me "This is a Restaurant!" Not sure what point he was trying to make, but I felt first mistreated by the waiter and secondly shouted at by the manager. All this for pointing out that my dish was laying with another customer before it was served to me. This kind of things felt straight out of an old film comedy of the 60s except it wasnt funny at all. I would not recommend this...
Read moreHate to say it, but this was a great Döner. My previous visits here have been (mildly) disappointing to be honest. The yaprak veal spit is large and smoking and stands for all to see amongst the bustle of Adalbertstr. But for me, it always lacked the balance of salt and fat. Under seasoned, lacking in flavour. Sauces, condiments, the rest was just the same mediocrity which I now try and avoid. Which is why, to my surprise, I saw some freshly baked pide (actually freshly baked) sitting in the counter in front of me. I gestured to the Usta that this would be my vessel of choice. He gladly obliged, I imagine he knew I had made the right choice. Keep the sandwich simple: no sauce, a few tomatoes, some parsley, some spicy chilli flakes, and stay away from the ghastly mayo paint and red cabbage. This is the trick. Slice it in half - for the cross section and superior eating experience. And honestly, this Döner is up with there with some of the best. The meat suddenly had some bang. Some gusto. Some power. It had what you want and would expect from a kebab that had been stacked by hand and with love. Thank you, it was a great kebab. And I have removed my earlier...
Read moreIn a recent visit to this establishment with my family, we were warmly greeted by the formal waiter upon entry. Despite the busy atmosphere, we were promptly seated without prior reservation. The service continued to impress, as we received a complimentary starter to precede our main courses.
The culinary experience was noteworthy, with the grilled vegetable and meat dishes showcasing authentic Turkish flavors. However, the evening took an unfortunate turn when it came time to settle the bill. In line with modern German customs, we attempted to pay by card and leave a cash tip. Regrettably, our tip of €5 was met with a discourteous remark by the waiter, who declined the amount as insufficient.
Fortunately, a supervisor intervened, apologizing for the incident and ensuring it wouldn't recur. While we appreciated the exceptional service provided by the waitstaff and culinary team, the waiter's unprofessional behavior left a lasting impression. Ultimately, this establishment's near-flawless dining experience was marred by a...
