Hasir Kreuzberg, Berlin: A Disappointing Experience
I had dinner at Hasir Kreuzberg in Berlin, and unfortunately, it was far from a good experience.
From the moment I arrived, the restaurant felt more like a crowded food court—busy, chaotic, and not well-maintained. The atmosphere was neither inviting nor comfortable.
The service was poor and disorganized. When we wanted to ask questions about the menu, the waiter seemed too busy to answer. He told us he would come back when we were ready, but he never did, leaving us unable to get the information we needed. Throughout the meal, getting the staff’s attention was a challenge, and they lacked attentiveness and professionalism.
As for the food, it was underwhelming—nothing special in terms of flavor or quality. Given the reputation of Hasir, I expected much better. The overall dining experience felt rushed and unorganized.
To make matters worse, when the bill arrived, we noticed we were overcharged. After pointing it out, they recalculated and corrected it, but this left a bad impression. It’s a must to check your bill before paying to avoid being overcharged.
Overall, Hasir Kreuzberg was a disappointment—with poor service, average food, a hectic and unclean environment, and billing issues. Definitely not a place...
Read moreI recently tried Hasir and ordered their kebab with chili sauce. Here’s the breakdown:
The Positives: The homemade bread was a standout – incredibly soft, fresh, and delicious. It was definitely the highlight of the meal. The meat (lamb) was flavorful and tender, though it’s worth noting this is only a plus if you enjoy lamb.
The Negatives: The salad was pre-mixed, which made it difficult to customize or avoid certain greens if you’re picky. The chili sauce, while clearly homemade, lacked any real spice – a letdown for anyone expecting a kick. I’ve had much better sauces in my kebab-eating experience.
Value for Money: At €8 for a takeaway snack, the price felt steep. While the bread and meat were good, the overall taste didn’t justify the cost.
Final Verdict: Hasir delivers on freshness and flavor in some areas, but the lackluster sauce and high price make it hard to recommend fully. If you’re nearby and craving lamb kebab, it might be worth a try, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for...
Read moreAs always this Döner slapped. Now a short rant: Hasir is an institution in this city and rightly so. 3.3/5 is a disgrace to this platform. Hasir has been relevant in Berlin’s Döner Meta for over 30 years now. The 3.3 star rating embodies everything that’s wrong with Berlin. This city is so obsessed with the next new thing that a tried-and-true establishment cannot prevail.
Anyway back to the food: I’ve never been a purist, but this one I recommend ordering without any sauce at all. The skewer-mix is layered with lamb fat so adding sauce not only dilutes the actual key flavours here, but can also make it a bit soggy. Get an Ayran to go with it and you’ll be off to flavortown.
Ps the people complaining about hygiene are a disgrace to our beautiful species. Millions of years of evolution have crafted us to be resilient and now you’re complaining because the same guy who made your food...
