‘I only work here’

The location and ambience of the place was good, on the surface. Seemingly cozy vibes, good menu, with vegan options. We were excited to order some lovely stuff and were super hungry after some meandering around Boxhagner Platz Market. However, after waiting for 50 minutes for our food, upon asking how long it would take, we got a panicked and vague response from the waitress that the food is ready now and coming any minute. After waiting another 10 minutes, I went up to ask how long the food would be, and I got the response, “it’s not my fault, I just work here”. I only wanted an honest answer for how much longer I’d have to wait, and maybe, perhaps, the vaguest apology or acknowledgment of our now over an hour wait for our food. Finally, after over an hour of waiting, we got our food. It was fine... but not worth a 60 minute wait. If you want to waste an hour waiting for ok food, come here. If not, steer clear, there’s plenty of choice elsewhere.

The place is cozy, the service is friendly, and the portions are huge, or even more than that. Many people are looking exactly for those things, but I want quality not quantity. Not saying that the quality would be bad, it’s definitely decent. Scrambled eggs (organic) in Teflon pans (lots of Teflon went somewhere already, at least it’s not in the pan anymore). Toast and panini style bread, no buns or croissants. No egg sunny-side up, only scrambled. Variety and choice for breakfast are quite limited (paninis, wraps, 4 types of breakfast combos and scrambled eggs). All in all it is great for people with a small budget, but if you are looking for organic and high end produce you should go...

The only thing that was OK at this place were the scrambled eggs. At the end they wanted to overcharge us with an additional cake (3 people,1 person had 1 cake. Nearly impossible to not be deliberate in 1 bill of six items). The "Sweet Morning" breakfast was a total disaster. For a place that is called "Homemade", nothing was fresh nor homemade. Microwaved Brioche from the day before, old fruits, nutella and honey in plastic packages. Additionally to that, the waitresses were unfriendly and inattentive (putting the cake on the table without even pausing when you wanted to order or asking if anybody needed anything else).
