Berlin’s Super Healing Brunch Spot 🍳

Beautiful cafe/restaurant with exquisite antique and vintage atmosphere. The attention to detail is superb and the Japanese refinement and sense of beauty is apparent. I had the ricotta hotcakes, which where delicious. The drinks were unique and tasty as well. My server as well as the rest of the staff were very kind and friendly and thankfully could accommodate me in English as I have terrible German. Special thanks to Nami at the bar who made incredible coffees and drinks and was such a pleasure to converse with. She is a wonderful barista and it was a pleasure to enjoy her craft. I recommend booking a table if possible as it seems quite popular. I was, however able to walk in and sit at the bar solo before it got too busy. I cannot recommend this cafe enough. It is a must visit if you are looking for a cosy, delicious, and relaxing brunch in a warm atmosphere. Thank you again to the whole team for an unforgettable experience.

I was there a few weeks ago, literally came to that place more than 4 times during my 4-day stay in Berlin. Tipping culture is really tricky in Berlin, I live in France btw. The first few times was really lovely experience, amazing food, good drinks, and the few Japanese guys there were really friendly. My friend and I had a huge meal in our last day in Berlin, of course we decided to go to our “favorite restaurant”. We ordered a lot of food and drinks, and the total consumption was approximately 110 euros. So I required to pay with my credit card. After payment, I said thank you, but didn’t notice that there is a tip column down there, until the tall waitress gave me a super dirty look, super dirty that my whole experience in Berlin started to feel unsettling. I asked my friend, who is Belgian, do we normally tip here. Eventually I left over 10 euros in cash on the table. I didn’t tell my friend about the dirty look, she was still quite happy about the whole experience, I wasn’t gonna destroy her good feelings with my experience. It’s been a few weeks now, it still confuses and upsets me just thinking abt it.

I am going to rate this place 3 stars as the food itself was good (I had the gluten free two eggs with potato gratin and my friend had the croque madame) but that's about it! The place itself is lovely, lots of plants and the decor is nice but it's busy, it's noisy and full of Instagram lovers waiting in line to take a selfie on the stairs. Once you finish with the food, the waiter will quickly ask you if you want the bill so you can leave the table for the next customer. Staff is definitely not happy, the sparkling lemonade punch had only the sparkling (water) in it without any sort of alcohol. It's quite expensive for what you get and to be completely honest, I was disappointed as this place has definitely a lot of potential but only use less then 20% of it because of his popularity. Oh and the gluten free options are limited so I will suggest to go there for a tea (if you really want to see the quirky decor), you will save money and have a better experience than the one we had.

Lovely brunch spot ☕️ We came here for breakfast 🍳 The menu was very limited and only had a couple of different options for breakfast. But they had lunch options too! The cappuccino had way too much milk and barely tasted like coffee ☕️ However the Americano was very good! The croissant 🥐 French toast was definitely something new to me and tastes absolutely delicious! 💖Many fruits 🍎 and it got served while the croissant was still warm! 🫶🏼 Definitely recommend! The matcha 🍵 cookies 🍪 were really dry and super small, rich flavour of matcha but not worth a try. The sourdough bread 🥖 was way too expensive for what it was (Aufbackbrötchen). Egg 🍳 still good tho! 🤝🏼 Overall the staff was fast but not really friendly. Everything was definitely overpriced.. Also couldn’t find the beautiful staircase that was advertised in the Google reviews. We had a nice time but there is definitely space for some improvement 🤝🏼💘

All glamour but lacking the key ingredient- good tasting food! We have been meaning to visit for so long and finally managed to get a table. The interior and garden in the back was just wonderful. The staff friendly and attentive. The menu read like a dream. We decided to split our order between the exotic ‘Japanese’ style breakfast items and the more traditional. What came out was a total disappointment. Both the Japanese meals (ribs & taco rice) were clumsily plated and lacking basic knife skills. A Japanese chef would surely be running out the door. The flavours didn’t fair better lacking balance both sauces very heavy handed with the sugar. The traditional Menü faired better for a picture but not cooking out your Béchamel seems like a 101 skill from home ed class. I so wanted to love it, as the atmosphere and people are lovely but the food is too disappointing to try again.
