Summary: I am torn between 3 and 4 stars opting for the 3 as the dishes were generally good but there was an element lacking in every dish; I would actually go again for a fairly price easy and child friendly dinner with very friendly service and beautiful seating outside in the courtyard
Best dish (- negative / = ok / + positive): = pizza with salsiccia and porcini: delicious taste, but the pizza was not crunchy and a bit soggy and that’s a key reason to eat pizza out and not at home because it always arrives soggy; I assume the likely frozen porcini mushrooms lost too much water - a small issue easily ameliorated
Dishes: = spaghetti with porcini and shrimps: ok taste but not well-seasoned so I had to add salt; quality of porcini mushrooms again mediocre, there are better frozen options available, the same goes for the quality of the small shrimp salad: the sauce is not good but not bad, but definitely too sweet and the presentation is not appealing to the eye with the brown sauce and the silly “decoration” with crema di aceto di Balsamico, I think it just looks cheap
Service: very friendly and fast and attentive - great job!
Price: fair price for value
Atmosphere: beautiful outside seating in a traditional Berlin Innenhof (interior courtyard) very child friendly: your kids can run around in the courtyard...
Read moreIt took us a few minutes to find this gem as it was not located on the Main Street as most places are. You have to go through a little alley that takes you past a few doors and opens up into a mini shopping center. Upon our arrival the place was completely empty, we were unsure if it was open or not because the whole shopping center was quiet and no one walking by or around. We arrived around 6pm. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. We were craving everything italian but decided to have the lasagna and a pizza accompanied by a bottle of wine. The bottle we ordered was the cheapest on the menu €28 yet it was so tasty and very worth the try. The lasagna was €16 and to be honest it was one of the top 5 I’ve had. The pizza was prosciutto and cheese and cost €14. The dough was nice and soft and prosciutto was very fresh and a good quality. By the time we left around 7pm the place was completely full, people had come in and out with take out orders and wondering if there was space to dine in. Overall the quality of the food was so good and to be located in Berlin it reminded us of food we’ve had in Italy. If you are in the mood for Italian I highly recommend trying this place out. Everything about it was fresh, prices were reasonable and the service was great, you...
Read moreFirst of all let’s hope they don’t remove this review, like they do with all the other slightly negative ones. Last month my boyfriend and I where on city trip in Berlin. For our last night we thought this would be the perfect restaurant to conclude our trip, a romantic Italian restaurant. We were wrong,… When we asked if we could have some extra time to chose the waiter kept waiting at the table, not very relaxing. We ordered a starter we could share and a pizza and tagliatelle, our starter was just served and they walked past us with our main dish and turned back to the kitchen. 10 min later we we where still enjoying our starter (the food was good) when they wanted to serve our main dish again. My boyfriend had to ask if we could finish first ?? Needless to say that when we got to our main dish the pizza was cold. Also I had to eat my tagliatelle with a knife and fork ? Not very authentic Italien. The food tasted ok, but the...
