Wonderful lady on reception who couldn't have been kinder to myself or our children. There is a sweet little checklist within the tour guide to work through when you arrive, which guides you through the museum and leads you to the exhibits as well as brainteaser puzzles in the main part.

My children did enjoy a crafts part where they made their own magic wand as well as a few other bits but at the age of 18 months and 3, realistically, the museum is at least 3-4 years away from being appreciated by my eldest. My wife and I did enjoy looking around.

A downside was regarding a member of staff who was very rude and directly took a trinket from my little girl, which had only been lent to her so she would be entertained as she is only 18 months. This was done without even a glance at myself or my wife, and before we knew what was happening. Luckily, this didn't upset her, but the staff shouldn't under any circumstances approach customers' children without permission.

Also, note for parents/wheelchair users

There is also no buggy storage facility, or is the museum in any way suitable for a pushchair/buggy/wheelchair/ or anyone without full use of both their legs as there are steep steps down to the level of the museum.

Obviously, the museum is limited by the building that it is housed within, and on our visit, no lockable storage facility is available. The lovely lady on reception did allow us to keep our buggy behind locked doors outside , but it was left at our own risk to the elements as well as anyone else with a key.

All in all, it was a worthwhile experience, costwise not a bargain find, but definitely recommend something to pass a rainy few...

I visited the Magicum today and had a fantastic experience. First off the staff are lovely, especially the gentleman who was working the ticket desk when I came in this afternoon, he was so warm and friendly and really made my experience one to remember. I loved all the interactive experiences throughout (there are several puzzles and tricks you can amuse yourself with in the final room, as well as the great tour guide book they encourage you to fill out as you experience the exhibits). I attended alone, but when I come back to Berlin with friends and family, this will have to be one of my stops. You can spend a short time here (its not that large of space you have to worry about dedicating an entire day to) but honestly if you want to experience it to its fullest (or if you have little ones who might be excited about some of the fun puzzles and crafts they have in the final room) I'd give yourself atleast an hour and a half to two hours minimum. Its a great stop if you just want a casual and fun, laid back museum experience, whether you're a true magic believer or just enjoy the showmanship of it. Also they have magic shows! Thanks from...

It was different than expected, but a really fun experience. If you expect a museum in the classic sense of the word, this is not for you. There are exhibits showing the history of mysticism and magic, however, they are not what the Magicum is about. It is highly interactive with many different stations you can work through, which makes it a lot cooler than a simple museum. You get to test your magic abilities, find your inner harmony, crack some riddles and have a lot of fun. Also, the guy at the door was an amazing showman, who really got us into the mood to enter this space that takes you out of your everyday routines and sprinkles a little bit of magic into your life. Definitely a recommendation if you want to try something different.

This is probably the best museum I've ever been to. The second you walk in the host makes you feel welcome. You're treated to a couple of tests before you start looking around and I was immediately scratching my head. The exhibits are well laid out and the signs explaining them are in both German and English. You take a little test sheet around with you and have approximately 15 interactive areas to do and little tasks to learn specific things related to yourself. The magic show is definitely worth the small additional charge and shows some good examples of close up magic and slight of hand. Definitely worth a visit.

A very interesting place you can visit in Berlin. The personal is very kind, excellent service there. At first you'll find some history about Alchemy, magic in general and some Witches. You'll get a card to fill with all the information you gather across your way through the place. There are some kind of task you need to accomplish, like and adventure, at the end you'll get a price from them of you finish them correctly. There's also a magic show, which is really interesting, loved how the mage used the public. A recommended place, if you're looking for something esoteric or uncommon.
