I know that this place is newly opened serving not for a long. I hope it will improve in the future, otherwise, I will never recommend this restaurant to my Mongolian or international friends. First of all, the menu needs to offer more variety. When I visited, the only options were khuushuur, buuz, and tsuivan. The khuushuur had very little meat, the dough was far too thick, and both the buuz and the khuushuur were tasted very weak. The most disappointing dish was the tsuivan. It was overly mushy, had a very bitter taste, and seemed to contain too many different seasons. When I shared my opinion about the tsuivan, I was shocked to see someone who had been playing games with other Mongolians at a nearby table suddenly stand up and go into the kitchen to cook food (she was the chef, I think). In my opinion, the restaurant needs to hire a better Mongolian chef or train the current one more thoroughly. As a Mongolian, it felt very embarrassing to see such tasteless, low-quality food being served to international guests. As for the restaurant’s interior design, I also wondered why there was no Mongolian style or atmosphere at all. Everyone knows that Mongolians are Buddhists, but the Buddhist prayer flags hanging from the ceiling made the place look more like a Tibetan restaurant than a Mongolian one. It gave me the impression that this restaurant was just using the name “Mongolian” as a way to make money. Therefore, I strongly urge you to pay urgent attention to improving both the quality of the food and the appearance of...
Read moreThe only authentic Mongolian food place in Germany I know of. As a Mongolian myself I've found it pretty good. Food is tasty and fresh. Only complaint I have is the portion size. The amount of meat is on the low side per each huushuur and the price isn't that cheap. For this reason I won't go there regularly but only when I miss home. They have monopoly on Mongolian food as the only place that is serving legit contemporary Mongolian food. If you go with Huushuur go with 5 or more I'd suggest (normally I go for 4 back home). Honestly though, in Ulaanbaatar you also find this small portion in many places when you eat out, so maybe this really is authentic haha. Sorry for the 4 stars, but I really don't think adding 50 percent more minced beef would cost that much from you guys and would improve customer satisfaction way more. Overall, recommended for anyone who wants to check out legit Mongolian food without actually going to Mongolia :)
Edit: They increased the portion size it seems, I almost died from heart attack after eating 5 huushuur large menu. Should have stopped at 4. So my review star...
Read moreThe booking is very simple on their website, you don’t have to call. We had a lovely evening with a group of 4. The waiters were friendly and polite, answered all of our questions. The atmosphere is pleasant, the music is not too loud, there’s also a corner for children to play. The bathroom was clean. The food was delicious! Plenty of veggie options too. The only downside was that there was no dessert menu but the waitress said that Mongolians don’t really eat dessert after a meal but take a shot of vodka instead - and they did indeed have 4 sorts of Mongolian vodka on the menu. I recommend trying the Mongolian milk tea (it’s salty, that was a special experience) and huushuur with leek and cheese filling. My friends also really liked the chicken filling. I will...
