Khánh Linh Quán - Vietnamese Restaurant Friedrichshain — Restaurant in Berlin

We have been eating here at least once a month for the past 4 years. It WAS our favourite Vietnamese in Berlin and a real hidden gem.

Unfortunately new owners have bought it and the prices have increased sharply and the food quality has decreased significantly.

The beef Pho which has increased by 5 Euro no longer has tender slices of brisket. It now has some very chewy low quality steak that tastes and looks terrible. The broth tasted watered down and was further diluted by old wilted bean sprouts. The noodles were overcooked and just disintegrated into tiny pieces.

The noodles with tofu were almost as they used to be but now they are very greasy which really made them unpleasant to eat. The noodles were also way overcooked and falling apart in this dish.

Very disappointing experience to be honest. I don't think I will be back as there are now tastier options for better value in the area

The pho costs almost 14euros and it was missing power, I wouldn't order it again. But the rest of the food we got, the bahn-mi and some vorspeisen, were good. On weekends they have special desserts. Overall, the price is on the higher side and we kinda saw it, kinda not why we were paying 20 or 30% more for things we find around for cheaper. I can find Pho Bo in the same level for 9 or 10 euros, for example. I wonder if the ingredients were so much better that would explain the price but I couldn't answer this easily.

Nevertheless, maybe I go back for trying the desserts and give it a 2nd chance.

Ps: Ask for the Viet...

It’s a small and busy place. Don’t forgot to reserve the table if you’re more than 2 persons. We had amazing vegan starters platter for two, main dish & dessert.

It was quite busy ans crowded so service was little chaos. They forgot one of our main dish, the chef came and apologised for that.

They do have happy hours on Tuesday to Friday from 15:00 to 18:00 hrs.

Absolutely worth to eat there, not like every usual Vietnamese restaurant, they tastes so good and...
