Last time I had family friends over for a visit. We did not have time to come here so I was looking forward to being able to bring them this time around as they are from Sweden.
We were asked what drinks we wanted but we had not received our drinks menus. We received our starters but had not received cutlery. I had to actually go and get a waiter seeing that they had completely forgotten and the food was just sitting there.
We ordered different types of korean barbecue. Enough to feed 5 people.
Funny enough, I questioned the quality of the salad which was to accompany our korean barbecue before we started eating but my girlfriend said let's not make a fuss.
A member of staff came and cooked the korean which I must say lightened the mood a bit because he seemed like such a genuine soul focused on giving customers a good experience. The only reason this review has stars at all is because of him.
Suddenly out of nowhere there is an shriek from my girlfriend. There is an actual snail in her rice. An actual bloody snail!
I quickly remove the bowl of rice from her and bring it to a member of staff.
They kind of just smile it off like this is normal and asks us if we want Soju which is the last thing on our minds.
Then he asks if he want a new salad which he says is likely the snail has come from. If he is right then, the snail has crawled around in the salad, decided for dessert and jumped in the rice which raises the question. Have we already eaten other snails without noticing?
I think a lot of people have worked in a restaurant or bar at one point in their lives or knows somebody who has. Ask yourself or they what they would do in this case? Would you expect to get the meal off? Maybe a voucher for a later date?
The manager said he would comp one portion of the KBBQ like it would make us feel better. What a joke! We had ordered 4!!! I was outraged and embarrased. My family friends ultimately had a terrible experience and this was our last dinner together to cap of their time here in Berlin.
It is a shame because I really liked this place. I think it is a bit much posting a photo of the rice with the snail in it online on your reviews because that would then in turn project an image onto other future patrons heads that it might happen to them causing them and causing them not to enjoy the dinner experience because they are flicking through every leaf and checking every crevasse for snails. Also might result in loss of revenue which I do not want for anybody.
We were treated horribly when you messed up. Don't do it to...

Read moreSuper overpriced - the vegan bibimbap and vegetarian option cost the same as the beef option. How does that make sense when the vegan option is the vegetarian option minus the egg and the vegetarian option is the beef option without the beef.
(Beef with egg - beef = vegetarian) - egg = vegan, so why are all the same price. 16.90 for a bowl of rice in Berlin is crazy pants.
Tonight they also messed up our order and the waiter didn’t seem to understand or willing to make it right. We ordered one beef bibimbap, one vegetarian, and two vegan. The bill had our order correct but the waiter brought out two vegetarian one beef and one vegan. He seemed confused and flustered when we tried to point out that it was wrong. In the end, one of the vegans just gave the egg to the vegetarian person so it wasn’t much of an issue, but it’s still dumb that all four of the dishes cost the same when they all have the same quantity and ingredients as the vegan option plus extras but the vegan people still pay just as much money.
Why do the sides come in the same amount when you order one portion of bibimbap as when there are more people and everyone has to share? Why does not every dish come with the same amount of sides. You would think for a ludicrous price point you would get a larger portion.
Also, the lighting is way too red and makes it difficult to see what you’re eating. Good concept for a bar but weird for food. Tourist spot.
I hope the owner responds with an explanation about the pricing being the same. I think the vegan bibimbap should cost 8,50 and the additional proteins...
