If youâre charging 11 euros for a shawarma, it better be something special. This, sadly, was not.
Letâs start with the good part: the meat. Nicely grilled, good flavor, solid âshashlikâ vibes. But the rest? Fell apart fast.
No sauce. Not even a little. Like someone wrapped it up and thought, âDry is a personality trait.â The veggies? A disaster. Wet, cold, straight-from-the-fridge energy. No grill, no flavor, just sad supermarket salad in disguise.
Size? Small. Like, âsnack between snacksâ small. And we waited 20â25 minutes for that. For the same price elsewhere, youâd get a shawarma the size of your forearmâand maybe even eye contact.
To be fair, the place looks cool. The open kitchen and the smoke behind the glass are kind of hypnotic to watch. Maybe other dishes are better. But still, thereâs no excuse for anything on the menu to be this far below the mark.
Lesson learned: sometimes the meat is the only thing holding it...
Read moreWe love Turkish food and Germany is known for it, because of the many Turks that live there.
We heard about Adanaâs grillhaus, but beware, there are 5 restaurants in a range of a 1000 metres with almost the same name!!! Because they all sell the same dish, âAdana kebabâ. We donât know about the other ones, but here the food was really good. A bit expensive maybe, but good quality.
They had very good and friendly service and offered a 1,5 portion instead of a double one for us two, because we had the idea that ordering 2 would be too much for us. 1,5 was perfect in size, but still âŹ44,-! Berlin is not as cheap anymore, like we remembered from a couple of years ago, but the quality was good, so it was ok. And they had a nice big glass of banana juice! đ Theyâre open all night till late and were busy all the night, but you could walk in any time...
Read moreThe food was lovely. Everything was freshly made (a simple side salad becomes a dish on its own when it's served fresh & crunchy with a bit of oil and some sumac) and was full of flavour. My adana kebab was nice and moist and at a perfect temperature. The sharing starter with babaganoush, humus, tzatziki, beans etc was great, very tasty and served with fresh bread (crunchy skin, soft inside, finished off with some sesame seeds - gorgeous!). We had Chardonnay that wasn't very good but I suppose you don't come here for the wine. The traditional Turkish dessert (cheese, cream, honey, topped with pistachio pieces) was to die for! Very rich & sweet, it was perfect with Turkish coffee. Staff are very friendly and attentive and work very hard to accommodate everyone. I don't think there are any gluten or lactose free...
