At Taj Indian Charlottenburg you can enjoy the best of Northern and Souther Indian cuisine. Aromatic spices, quality ingredient and distinctive flavors are the main differentiators of Taj. Don’t miss the chance to try something new and exciting!
We ordered a few dishes from which I must highlight the chicken tandoori (very tender, grilled to perfection and seasoned with love), their mixed pakoras (not only at all, very tasty and crunchy), the Lamb Madras (really tender and the coconut curry sauce was just amazing), and the Amritsari Chole (a chickpea dish that I could not get enough of). I was also quite surprised to see the dimension of their Bhatura bread. It was so big, but also very fluffy, and it was the perfect companion to pair with the previous saucy dishes. I am happy that an Indian friend recommended most of the dishes, but don't worry because the staff is really friendly and will definitely help you get the best of their menu.
I have to call out the fact that the dishes might take a little bit longer than usual to arrive because they are freshly prepared at the moment (e.g. the curries), which is surely noticed in the final taste. I recommend you to get some apetizers/starters while you wait for the mains. I would suggest the mixed pakoras and some samosas.
Would definitely go back to try more items on their menu

Read moreSo we went to this restaurant based in reviews which are quite good. At a glance we arrived and the patio looked great and the servers were Indian, so we thought this will be good.
Our main problem was the food not authentic. It was modified for a German audience. We are used to authentic curries and soups being we live in a city with a massive Indian population. The daal soup was full of cream? Supposed to be a curry lentil without creams. And the curries we ordered, tikka masala and jalfrezi we all tomato based and tasted identical? Where was the curry? They remade it by sprinkling in some curry powder but it wasn't very good. They said the bases are premade and they cant really remake them. I think this isnt acceptable for a finer dining restaurant. There should be a chef that can create authentic curries without a premade sauce to rely on. Especially at 17 euros a curry? And the portions were small. So we left having eaten only the samosas which were the only part of the meal that was any good. We walked a few blocks and found some empanadas...
