Kaffee KÄTHE Breakfast und Brunch — Restaurant in Berlin

Keep in mind that place is no longer allowing to come with laptops. The place has changed over last month and not in a good way. Staff is also very careless about disinfection of tables and their juice machine is always full of fruit flies.

Additional comment in response to owner's reply:

0. It is very interesting how the owners deleted half of their initial reply (see screenshot) and then they changed the story 3 times after that.

Instead of taking ownership for bad customer service, owners are practicing their skills in writing fiction - at first they added a cover up with imaginary wishes for imaginary job search and the latest story are imaginary claims that I was shouting and that all tables are imaginary pre-reserved due to limited space.

There is no doubt that owners show endless talent to invent creative excuses not to take responsibility for their actions and of course in writing fiction.

It is not easy to receive critics, and not everyone is able to deal with it in a decent way.

1. It took the owner of cafe more than 1 day to answer my question - why laptops are no longer allowed in cafe?. I have initially asked that question the owner in person, when I was in cafe, the answer was "I don't know". It is at the very least quite confusing customer service.

2. Owner claims that laptops are no longer allowed in cafe because of state restrictions on social distancing that are forced on cafe. There are no special rules in state regulations of Berlin or Germany or EU that has specific order for customers in cafes with laptops with regards to social distancing. We all have to follow the same rules.

There are also no special state regulations that put customers "would like to have Breakfast with their family" above customers with laptops. So at the very least the owner seems not to be aware of the latest version of state regulations on social distancing in Berlin.

3. It is interesting that owner's reply states that they "do not prohibit use of computer if it does not interfere with others". At the same time the owner has put big note at the cafe stating NO LAPTOPS ON WEEKENDS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS. So how the "we do not prohibit use of computer" goes along with "NO LAPTOPS"?

4. It is also very interesting how the owner's reply confirms my review - the cafe is not laptop friendly anymore. The owner states "the lack of place for people who would like to have Breakfast with their family". So the solution that the owner found is not to allow people with laptops anymore, because people "who would like to have Breakfast with their family" need tables more than people with laptops, which automatically gives them more rights in this cafe to get a table.

5. The owners do not see anything wrong in the new approach they are taking by not allowing people with laptops. It is quite shocking to see such prejudicial approach and such a shame for HoReCa.

It is great that owners finally started to take care about disinfection of tables after my review.

This place is not recommendable and it is extremely disappointing to come across such bad...

No matter how many times I passed by, Kaffee KÄTHE was always full. That's why one day I couldn't help but go to this cafe for breakfast 😁

The place is stylish, cozy, relatively small, has summer terrace. There is parking for a car and a bicycle.

The menu includes various breakfasts from 9 am till 15:00, 8.90€ to 14.9€, Lunchcombo Mo-Fr, 12:30-15:00, big cappuccino 4.5€. You can find whole menu in Photos.

We took Mediterran Shine Schakshouka (12.90€) and Gourmet Garden Benedict for 14.90 Euro. These were delicious! We were full until the evening.

The atmosphere on Monday was working, every second table in the morning was at a laptop. On weekends, it’s said that there is no Wi-Fi (we had it on Monday), so I guess people just eat and chat. The staff is welcoming, speaks English and German. You can pay by card.

Pretty nice. Pretty liked by locals. Can recommend for good breakfast and coffee...

We had a wonderful experience at Kaffee Käthe in Prenzlauer Berg. The service was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and accommodating — truly outstanding. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere in the café is very cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a good meal.

We actually made a mistake with our order, but the staff handled it with such kindness and professionalism. They helped us sort everything out quickly and without any fuss — it was no problem at all.
