Love at first bite - Café, Breakfast Brunch — Restaurant in Berlin

Reviewed as asian who living in germany. I was there with my friends and my brother. I apologize for rate this cafe 1 star. I was very disappointed. Not recommended for people who can’t wait for the food to be ready for more than 30 minutes.

They need to update the menu in a more convenient way. The format menu is confusing

Their service is slow. Yes, they put notice on the menu. But if their service is that slow, they have to let the guest know if some menus are not available at that time - To avoid another 15-20 minutes waiting for them to come and take the actual order. Because we also have to wait another 30++ minutes until they can serve the food (my brother’s food come even more longer. I asked why my brother’s food still not arrived , even though my friends and I had already finished the food. Their staff pointed out that it was because my brother was late to ordered the food - the difference actually not more than 10 minutes when he ordered. Turns out they forgot the order. Didn't even say sorry, just said every weekend always full, etc. and they just asked what the order was 🙂

There is no sign for pancake, that only served on a certain day. Keep in mind to check their instagram for updates (but I think not everyone has instagram). Some people probably extra come only for pancake (one of them is me). And I was wasting like 20 minutes to found out that pancake weren’t available. The staff was so busy, if we ask the staff to come or ask something else, we had to wait again

I think they have to reorganize the staff as well especially during busy time. 3 different waiters came to us but all asked the same things and also forgot the same things.

I expected the food looks good, since we have to wait that long and also the price not that cheap. But the food looked not that tempting and not that tasty at least for the french toast (maybe it’s their concept since the name is dirty french, but I don’t know, my opinion it’s just not clean and properly prepared). We want to order waffle chicken , since it‘s the most recommended one. But when we ordered, they said, it was sold out and no more waffle on that day. But then we saw one hours later, they started to served the waffle chicken.

I don’t know, I think they were really overwhelmed. They must really organized their staff

P.s: You have to make reservation and you can’t pay with card (but there is atm machine...

It’s not a place you would like to return to. It’s a place that’s made to make money and it does the job. Nice photos, a line to be seated, dishes looking as if I’m watching my instagram feed… But the magic is gone as soon as you take your place and your waiter tells you that you can only pay in cash (come on, it’s the capital city of Germany, and we live in the 21st century). But then you look through the menu and realise that almost every dish will make your wallet around 20 euro thinner. And to be honest, I wouldn’t mind paying so much for a few pancakes if they were exceptional, but they aren’t. Behind the shiny look there’s mediocre taste. And once you get to the end of the menu, you’re kindly reminded not to overstay your welcome (as if there was any) and to leave the premises after 90 minutes. This is a typical overhyped cafe in Berlin with a nice wrapper, but empty content. Our waiter did exactly what she was supposed to do, but not even a tiny bit more to make our experience more enjoyable. You got my 40 eur today, but there’s 99% chance that on any other occasion I would prefer another place, luckily there’s plenty of...

Why have a reservation service and still make people wait 40 minutes to get seated? My friends and I were having a catch up brunch on IWD and since it's a holiday we chose to reserve in advance to ensure that we get a table at a specific time. We arrived and the waiter generally disregarded my friend and I and only really communicated with her husband who spoke German. They had planned to seat us at the window which wasn't plausible for a group of people to have a meal together. For 1 or 2 people sure, but for 4 people it wasn't doable at all.

They gave us a orange ginger shot whilst we waited but sitting out in the cold for over 40 minutes when you made a reservation isn't good at all.

Next was the service. The waitress we finally got was really sweet but as it was super busy everything was very slow. Thankfully our food arrived on time and was tasty but needed something extra to make it wow.

The place and food is very instagramable which is a blessing and a curse. Honestly was also very very cramped but that's normal in Berlin winter time.
