I was looking for a place for Valentine day's dinner. opentable said tables at Kitsune are available only at 17:15. Booked.
Upon entering I saw a nicely decorated almost empty space, with a single waitress (who did a very good job the whole evening) and a sushi chef.
Sushi showcase: mostly good, but salmon was almost white and very fatty. Decided against sushi.
Fairly typical Vietnamese-Japanese menu, surprisingly interesting wine list. Ordered Cremant de Limoux. It came, refreshingly cold, but flat. Sent it back, the new glass had fine, lively bubbles.
Next came my Yuzu tea, without the slightest hint of Yuzu flavor. Just black tee (Darjeeling) with lemon. Honey on the side.
Next: miso soup. Lukewarm, otherwise ok.
Grilled fish was delivered to the table behind ours. The event filled the room with the strong, unpleasant fishy smell.
I got a strange feeling that the restaurant was getting rid of yesterday's leftovers.
Finally, we received udon noodles with large, juicy shrimp. Yet... the dish had salad leaves on its side, sitting in a pool of salad dressing, which was partially mixed with the bigger pool of noodle sauce. Edible but not what I would expect from a thoughtful chef.
We left. Tre restaurant was still half-empty. It felt like it faces two possible futures. One: start paying keen attention to quality and thrive. The other: follow its predecessors on that street corner straight...

Ein vietnamesisches Highlight – absolut empfehlenswert!
Meine Frau und ich waren heute bei dem Vietnamesen an der Ecke, und es war einfach fantastisch! Die Atmosphäre ist warm und einladend, perfekt für einen entspannten Abend. Besonders begeistert waren wir von der großen Auswahl an hochwertigen Weinen – hier wird wirklich auf Qualität geachtet.
Die Speisekarte bietet eine breite Vielfalt, und egal ob Vorspeise oder Hauptgang, alles war mit Liebe zum Detail zubereitet. Die Teller waren wunderschön dekoriert, und die Frische sowie die perfekte Würze der Zutaten haben uns beeindruckt.
Das Team war unglaublich freundlich und aufmerksam, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu wirken. Wir haben uns unglaublich wohlgefühlt und hatten richtig Spaß beim Essen.
