After reading the reviews of this Hotel I was very apprehensive and quite honestly expecting a bit of a dump! But Joy of joys the room (302) was clean spacious and modern, as was my Brothers room (303).||The room was cleaned and re troweled everyday and when we had the “do not disturb” sign out, a care package was left on the door handle containing towels and toilet rolls. I thought this was a great idea! ||The Tv works fine and has many channels where you can watch your favourite shows in German! ||The Free WiFi was strong and reliable you do have to re log devices on that you take out for the day but that’s no hardship.||There aren’t any Tea/Coffee making facilities in the rooms but for a €10 deposit you can borrow a kettle from reception they also lent us small cups from the dinning area.||There is a Lidl within a 2min walk, exit the Hotel (pick up your free map from reception) turn right and first right onto kneesbeckStraße approximately 100m on the left is lidl (you can also recycle any plastic bottles here for a Lidl voucher (1 bottle = €0.25) (this is also the way to Savignyplatz train station, just go straight past Lidl and straight ahead at the first junction, turn left under the rail bridge at the end of the road, the entrance is past the bookshop and restaurants on the left, the disabled lift is straight on past the entrance to the next road under the bridge)).||Opposite Lidl is an Edeke a large supermarket with a cafe attached, this cafe is brilliant for Breakfast cheap and filling but that’s another review! ||Dominos pizza will deliver to your door just make sure you have the Hotel address (grab a business card from reception) including postcode and phone number. I placed an order online and it Was delivered to the door within 21 mins must...
Read moreA great location, with lots of food and shopping nearby (even an Apple and Tesla store). The rooms are good-sized and clean, the beds are fine and larger than most hotels in this price range. Task lighting is good, though overall room lighting is a little dim (not unusual in Europe). TV and internet worked fine, and there's an adequate armoire for clothes. We had an end unit, which offered an additional bedroom for our son, a pleasant surprise for an family-friendly option in this price range and neighborhood. The hall carpets really do need cleaning or replacement, but that's about our only negative. I've seen others comment on that, I'm sure they know, but it's not a deal breaker of any kind, just a little ugly. The desk staff generally spoke good English, and there were stacks of tourist brochures and discount coupons all around the lobby, if not a concierge desk. No room service food (you can order takeout from nearby), no laundry, no business center, no porters. Fine by us, that's not what we wanted to pay for anyway. Their breakfast service is pleasant, tasty and offers a generous assortment. It's a basic buffet, but a good one, and in a sunny room facing the street. Many units even have balconies to watch the street scene. Get a unit in the rear if you want more quiet, one in front (with balcony) if you want to see (and hear) more of the street life. A very safe neighborhood. There are plenty of bike rentals nearby, and it's a short walk from the Zoo station for the U-bahn or S-bahn, one line is even closer (on Kurfurstendamm), depending on where you need to go. It's a lively neighborhood to explore, yet Lietzenburger is one block off the main shopping drag of Ku'damm, so...
Read moreVery poor choice as the bed and room are just so so. During my visit to Berlin for 6 days it was hard to sleep a single night. The lift never worked so you climb 4 floors by stairs after your tiring day. Only the location is good to explore the busy streets. And the breakfast on first day it was fine but gradually they end up appearing disgusting. Half of the baskets and trays were empty. So you are left with only two or three choices and that too will be circled by people to get a single bite. Very disappointing. Then comes the WiFi that is something more horrible. It never worked. Whenever I tried to login after every 5-7 minutes it would log out by itself and you need few more minutes to login again. So you end up writing a small email for 30 mins. Now you reach the reception they say "sorry we couldn't meet your demands as there are too many guests" such a lame excuse. And now the most important part of the stay. The cleaning stuffs are not only ill mannered but also poor trained. They enter your room in your absence for cleaning and touches your stuff. When you complain in the reception they say we'll complain to the police please tell us in detail and the next day again it happens. I realized then why they had written take care of your stuffs. Such a bad experience I never had encountered. Never changed towels and the bathroom was leaky and full of water and dirt. Would never ever recommend this hotel. It was seriously painful spending six days in such helpless condition. Simply...
