Living in abroad for 22 years, I sometimes miss Korean foods, but in 12 years of searching something in Berlin, has not been successful.
This restaurant reminded me that everything can go wrong, if behavior of "waiter" or the "owner" is bad. In this case, which happens to be a poor old guy who is probably a husband of chef.
One of the things I use to "test" their generoisty is to ask for a tap water. after ordering a couple of dishes. Most of places would say yes, but this one said no.
I came alone so I asked for a table outside, and he asked to help him to carry my own table, although there are several tables open outside. -1
I order Kimchi Pancake, which "always" comes with Soy Sauce to dip. Like Dumpling with Soy Sauce. When I asked for Soy Sauce (yes just soy sauce), they said they don't have it. (!). -1
Side dishes they provided, as some pictures can show, had the tiniest bits of pieces of Kimchi and pickled radish and two small Broccoli. When asked for more, he said he will charge more. I don't care if it costs more, but I would not pay even an euro for that amount. -1
When I asked for the check, the owner was keep mentioning that Side Dishes aren't free, even though it wasn't asked at all. Annoying behavior. -1
When the check was ready, I said I want to pay with card but he said the check was already made for cash (?) and insisted me to pay with cash. -1
Food was nothing special. But the price was lower than most of places.
All in all, one of the rudest Korean restaurant I've ever...
Read moreA Hidden gem near Mierendorffplatz! We found this restaurant accidentally by browsing Google Maps and i could remember that at the same spot there was a korean "restaurant" before.
You can eat outside which is awesome in summer. The inside of the restaurant it very clean and cozy.
The Menu Card is handwritten(!) in german and korean in various colors. There aren't many things to choose from the card but every single dish on the card is worth the price!!! Less is more so the card is perfect!
2 Starters around 6-8 main dishes
The Owner of the restaurant is super-friendly and i liked to talk to him. He told me about is cooking skills and where the kimchi recipe is from. The Owner and his wife are great people and i can see the effort they put into the restaurant....so lovely.
The Music in the background is some kind of classic korean music and sometimes some K-Pop.
The Food is authentic as it can get and it tasted wonderful! We spent there over three hours and we felt so comfortable.
We will definetely come back soon to try some L.A inspired dishes!
So everyone who's reading it....take your time and visit this awesome restaurant! It's...
Read moreI definitely do not recommend this restaurant!!!!
I am giving it 5 stars so my review can be seen.
We wanted to order coke and the guy said we could get it from outside. The cokes came in glasses and without acid, sparkling. We paid 2 euros.
When it was time to pay, he did not accept cards and said there would be an additional fee for paying with cards. Our bill was 27.60 euros. We gave 30 euros in cash and he did not give us change.
When he saw that we were waiting, he then gave us 2 euros in change. This was very strange. When I asked for my 40 cents, he said that was normal.
And he started yelling at me where are you from? When I told him where I am from, he insulted me.
He shouted that he would give me my 40 cents and I left without taking it. I have no problem tipping, but it is beyond horrifying that a tip was taken from me without asking. Never again!!!
Racist, rude, bad owner!...
