Mısır Çarşısı 1984 Kreuzbergs Finest — Restaurant in Berlin

Maybe I should've given 1 start but at least the ayran was ok. They heat the pre-cooked lahmacuns in microwave, no freshly baked ones. They were really dry and tasted unpleasant. We ordered it along with a salad which had stale lettuce and tomato in it. It tasted terrible. We also ordered icli kofte. They also heat it using microwave instead of frying it in the deep oil. Using the microwave could be more acceptable for this one but the icli kofte itself was not so good. You could clearly taste the bulgur in the shell and the filling didn't have walnuts and enough spices.

I am a little disappointed in this one because this had the best reviews in the area. I am Turkish and I really wanted to have some good lahmacun and icli kofte before I leave Berlin. We were really sad because we wasted our...

Food was only fine. I don’t usually leave this kind of review if someone is rude, but the service was so, so unnecessarily rude. Especially don’t recommend coming here if you’re working on German language skills, they will not be remotely patient or make any attempt to reciprocate when you try to communicate. Table next to us had the same experience. Made my friend cry.

The food was not as good as I expected from an ethnic place with a long history. Pita and sauce were especially bland. I've seen worse but it's definitely not too good and I know a lot of less known places where it's better.

Workers seemed friendly, but now I'm reading their replies to other reviews and I don't feel as good about them anymore. Also, the location is...well, Kottbuser Tor. Most people are afraid to go there...
