Martins Place - Kuchenmanufaktur & Café — Restaurant in Berlin

We stopped by here last weekend. The place has a wide variety of cakes, friendly staff and good location.

However: Despite the wide variety of cakes, there is no label showing the type of the cake. I ended up asking 3 types, and then gave up. I wish they had written the names of the cake somewhere. I would have made a better choice in a shorter period of time.

I tried their Carrot cake to be on the safe side, and it was average. I had better ones. The cake was dry and the cream was not very tasty. The chocolate cake was much better.

Finally the prices. Oh God! This place is extremely expensive. One piece of cake is around 4,50. I had a flat white, for which I paid 3.90. If you are in the neighbourhood, I recommend you make your own decision and give them a shot, but there are cafes with better cake and prices...

The cakes looked great but I was really disappointed when I tasted them. My friends and ordered three slices of different cakes at 6,50€ per piece to try them out. They were the worst cakes I’ve eaten for as long as I can remember. One of our group threw the cakes out. For the price our expectation was … different. We have cake every Sunday and tried out La Maison (very limited but good cake selection) and Bravo Bravko (the best cakes but unfortunately their cafe has closed) in this Kiez. The owners of Martin’s Place seem to be very nice people, but the cakes were unsatisfactory. I agree with one of the other reviewers, who wrote about less sugar in the cakes, but the result is just that it tastes like pure butter or cream and hardly any other tastes. Can’t...

We are coming to have our „ pieces of happiness” almost every Sunday. To start with, this place is amazing! It’s so cozy! The cakes 🍰 are just masterpieces! The guys their creating an art! I’m wondering where the guys have have so much fantasy and so many recipes from?! I’m always surprised with the assortiment! And whatever I’ve tried there- it’s a heaven! The quality worth every cent! Today I’ve bought 5 different cakes for my friends and they liked them soooo much ♥️ Thanks for your hard work guys and putting your soul into that masterpiece you create ! Will come back again and again !
