Mr. Gyros — Restaurant in Berlin

The prices doesn't ad up.

A little on the salty side. The gyros pieces itself were a bit too small , the cutting technique would need some improvement. The meat bits were to small for my taste.

I mean you know the times when the strings that's guy is cutting off are big and you feel the juice squeezing out when you bite in them, well that's not the case here. Instead there are a bunch of small salty bits.

Friendly staff but not good enough to make this my go to Greek...

I am a greek guy that lives abroad, visited Berlin for a weekend and found the place out of the blue. I can tell that the food there is very original, felt like home!! Good portions, very good quality and very good prices! And don’t get me started on the treatment, it felt like they had known me for ages!! Very welcoming, helpful and kind. I went there two days in a row and can’t wait to go back again! I just wish we had this in...

Meine Story zu Mr. Gyros:

Ich bin seit mehr als 10 Jahren Stammkunde bei Mr. Gyros gewesen. Mr. Gyros war DIE Anlaufstelle, wenn man authentisch griechisch essen gehen wollte. Das Ambiente war schön, die Preise haben gestimmt, die Portionen waren gut und das Essen war lecker. Ich selbst bin schon in Griechenland gewesen und die Gerichte haben dort 1 zu 1 wie bei Mr. Gyros geschmeckt. Seitdem allerdings der Inhaber gewechselt hat, hat der Laden komplett nachgelassen - in allen Punkten. Das Ambiente ist nicht mehr so gemütlich wie damals, die Portionen sind sehr geschrumpft, das Essen hat geschmacklich sehr nachgelassen und die Gerichte sind massiv teuer geworden. Gut, Lebensmittel sind teurer geworden - da kann ich es nachvollziehen wenn man die Preise anhebt. Wenn die Preise aber höher werden, die Portionen kleiner werden und der Geschmack extrem nachlässt, kann ich das aber nicht verstehen.

Mit dem Wechsel des Besitzers ist leider eine tolle Ära zu Ende gegangen. Ich werde diesen Laden vermutlich nicht mehr betreten, da es nicht mehr mein Mr. Gyros ist wie ich es kennen und lieben gelernt hab...
