Pho Ha — Restaurant in Berlin

mhh what a special restaurant, very close to home and always a warm welcoming place with sweet staff. portions are huge and will fill up your belly with delicious vegan food. they have black tofu and i always forget what black tofu is and need to ask again. never too full here, prices are more than fair and not a long wait, so toll ! interesting mix of neon light and vintage lamps. no music, so you can easily listen in on your neighbors conversations ;) went here after a demo, for my birthday, on a date, with my best friend marini and ordered home when i was lazy hehe - a wonderful spot for many ocasions. great view on the old gas station, we wonder what they'll build here.. maybe a big expensive apartment complex, but we hope not. leaving happy...

At first, it was really hard to understand why almost every review here started off raving about the food but didn’t give it five stars. But now that I’ve experienced it myself...yes, food is good but nothing amazing. Probably better off going to Mais around the corner. Because charging 1.80 for a ‘small’ tap water and 2.50 for a ‘large’, without any indication that you’d be paying for it is pretty cheeky. On top of that, only accepting cash and then not having enough change but 1) not addressing it and so kind of trying to trick the custome/bank on the fact they won’t count their change and 2) not fixing it in the customer’s favor when it is pointed out is pretty...

The food is delicious and we've been back a few times now. Each time our waiters could speak enough English (better than many other Vietnamese restaurants in Berlin) so this was not a problem at all. Our waiters were always quite nice and made us feel happy to be there. The servings are huge and very tasty. If you do not want tofu/processed food (like 'local guide' Eric B below) then simply ask for no tofu and you will get extra veggies. One thing that was annoying..
