Schaumschläger — Restaurant in Berlin

Great location. Lovely light. Had been there various times to get something to go. Sat there today to do some work. Ordered an espresso (which was awful) and a pain-au-chocolat. It's self-service and you order at the till. After an hour, the woman running the place came up to me and signalled for me to take my headphones off: “can I bring you sth else?” “No, thank you, I'm fine”. An hour later a friend arrived who want to order something for both of us. The woman came directly to our table, my friend said she was going to the till to see what they have. The woman directed her attention to me and said “and you? You can't just have an espresso and sit there”. I had also ordered something to eat she had forgotten. The place was otherwise completely empty.

Again, I've been there on other days for take away but it appears if you go in and don't order more than a coffee and a patisserie every hour. They will hassle you.

I told the woman I didn't agree with her approach and we essentially agreed to disagree. She seems cool enough. It's just not nice to feel observed and pressured. I wouldn't...

This place is a hidden gem in crowded and loud street on Sonnenallee. Just few meters turn on Sonnenallee, you enter in the cafe and you feel so relaxed. The ambience is so pleasant, very friendly service, great yummy cakes.

So far that was one of the best carrot cake I ever ate. They do have homemade drinks/ lemonade and good coffee.

It's a wonderful and very cozy place. The atmosphere is very good and the staff was so friendly. Loved it! They have a great variety of cakes and cookies - I recommend the apple cake, and the carrots.. also there coffee is great. They are a bit pricey, but still,...
