Samos — Restaurant in Berlin

I have been to Berlin enough times to finally admit to having a favorite restaurant, Samos. The food is delicious, and the servings are large. Located in a very fabulous, upscale neighborhood of Berlin, the restaurant gives a nice, elegant ambience and the staff is very friendly. Best place for classic Greek cuisine. I ordered a warm starter of the grilled baby Calamaretti, the garlic bread, and for the entree I went with the lamb shank from the pot served with green beans, baked potatoes and salad. We headed straight for the Samos Restaurant on the first evening after checking into our hotel, as it was essentially just next door. We could not have been happier. The flavours, the dishes, the friendliness of the staff and - especially - the unfailing ouzo shots in between dishes, all contrived - and managed - to transport us magically to Greece itself. Over our short, three-day stay in Berlin, we made a point of squeezing in at least another visit. Well...

Heute,der 11.August,mein Geburtstag,da sollte es schon ein sehr gutes Essen sein!!!Aber,ganz viele Griechen sind im Urlaub und die Restaurants sind zu. Und da dachte ich an ein Restaurant,wo ich mal vor sehr langer Zeit war: das Restaurant SAMOS in der Leibnitzstraße hier in Berlin. Ich habe dann die Rezensionen gelesen und dachte: "Ja,das ist super!!" Und dann gestern noch einen Tisch für meine Freundin und mich bestellt und dann heute dort gewesen. Solch ein tolles Essen!! Es war fast ein Wettessen mit Knoblauchbrot und Tzatziki-und ich war in den letzten 40 Jahren bestimmt in vielen Griechischen Restaurants-so etwas köstliches habe ich schon sehr lange nicht gegessen. Als dann das Hauptgericht kam,ich konnte nicht mehr viel essen (kann sich eigentlich Jemand vorstellen,wie es sein muß,wenn etwas so köstliches vor einem steht und man essen möchte und nicht essen kann,weil der Magen voll ist??? Zum Glück kann man ja heute das Essen,welches man nicht schafft,mitnehmen und ich freu mich schon auf morgen,wenn ich weiter essen kann. Das Personal sehr nett und mit dem wenigen GRIECHISCH,das ich spreche habe ich dann erklärt,daß mein Magen klein ist und die Portion groß war.Und daß ich dann das nächste Mal,und das wird sehr bald sein,da muß ich mir dann mit meiner Freundin ein Essen teilen.Denn auf das Super-Knoblauchbrot und das beste Tzatziki können wir auf keinen...
