Two weeks ago I went to the Kima Hotel in Berlin. The rooms were nice, but everything else was not what we expected. We got an E-mail with information which stated that we would get free parking close to the hotel, this however wasn't the case. We asked for our parking tickets and the receptionist straight up told us that we had made it all up. ||We showed the Email with the information and she said that booking.com (the site we used to book our rooms) was lying and the only information that was right was that on their own website. So we visited the website and this also stated that parking was supposed to be free. So we eventually were promised a free parking ticket for the coming days, because we already paid for that day due to us arguing for over half an hour. ||The next day however the ticket that they reserved for us and we had already seen ( they didn't want to give it immediately because they were afraid we would steal it) was given away and we had to pay for the rest of the week.||Later we even heard from other guests that they had gotten a parking tickets because those issued by the hotel were fake. ||This however wasn't the only problem. Our breakfast was a bit measly and we had to wait a long time for food and plates because the employees were drying them using paper towels.||||This all is why I give this hotel 1 star. I would have given it 4 if the staff had been friendly and if the breakfast had been...
Read moreConsidering that we paid about 80 € a night for this hotel, we are not fully satisfied. The room size is ok a bit on the small side though. The bathroom had an ok size but the toilet was really noisy - there was some kind of pump connected to it, and everytime you went to the bathroom, washed your hands or showered there was noise, and it smelled a bit of sewer. The worst for us though, was the bed. It was simply not worth sleeping in, it was so used that you would slide into the middle every night. The hotel is situated in a old residential building on the 2nd-4th floor, and you should generally avoid such hotels, as they're not originally made for being hotels. The breakfast was actually pretty good with a nice selection of anything you'd want. The problem for us is the fact that it is included in the room price and that the room is not big enough for every guest to eat breakfast at the same time. The tables are huge and when you sit down, you're pretty much in the way of everyone who wants to have some more breakfast. ||The location of the hotel is quite nice, but if you're a first time visitor of Berlin, this is not the place to stay. You have to walk about 10 min to get to a train, and the area is very quiet. I don't think I would return to this hotel. The staff however...
Read more-The building is old and not very practical. Also not very well maintained. The hotel is located in floors 2 and 4 which means you probably have to take the scary elevator which sometimes does not work and also it's extremely uncomfortable to use with big luggage OR you'll have to climb the creaky stairs. The windows in the common areas are nice at least. -Rooms are simple. Matresses are just ok. They don't make the bed everyday. The bathroom was old and has no amenities. Also takes forever to heat up water for the shower. -Breakfast buffet is limited. The breakfast area is also kind of cramped so you'll probably have to bother other guests that are sitting to get to your table. -Wifi is Bad. It keeps disconecting all the time. -Reception is not 24/7. We met two receptionists during our stay, one of them seemed annoyed that we were there and the other one was snarky. -The good thing about this place is the location which is really great and probably the main reason why this place still has clients and also why -looking at previous reviews- the owners seem to not care about improving the conditions of their hotel.
If you plan to stay more than one day try to look for some other...
