One star but two words: total disaster!

Me and my gay friend headed out to grab some beers. We first noticed that the lounge chairs in the left corner were broken, so we decided to sit on the canapé close to the bar. First everything was fine but then my friend discovered: salad on the floor. The sticky sauce was oll over the place. We were like no drama, let’s just call the staff. Finally one of the waiters came by and we pointed on that mess next to our feet. He looked at it, back at us and seriously said "This is super unhygienic. I wouldn't dare to touch this“.

After we recovered from this man's excellent service skills, we asked for a cloth or paper towel. Wasn’t possible. Instead, this pioneer of modern gastronomy brought a beer coaster and threw it over the widely spread salad. It was as effective as putting sunglasses on in order to make the chauvinistic behavior of the staff members disappear. In my words: It is no means to an end.

After sweeping their problems under the beer coaster, the waiter, while looking at us from the corner of his eye, whispered something into the other bartender's ear. Then, the bartender tapped our drinks, which took suspiciously long, and served them with a smirk and the words „I Really hope you enjoy your...

It used to be great food quality and service (ca. 4 years ago). Now food quality is not as good, portions are actually small and most interesting dishes disappeared from the menu, it’s just schnitzel/wurstsalat/flammkuchen - selection pretty common in many restaurants in Berlin. It is also very frustrating that menu on the website has not been updated for a few years and it still displays unavailable dishes. we have been commuting from west Berlin just to eat delicious wild sausages and “schaufele”. Team inside mentioned that those dishes are not available anymore since a few years and “the boss” does not even care to update the menu. I had schnitzel and it was tasteless and small, bratkartoffeln were actually burned. It is very sad, as i had given this place 5 stars some years ago for great food quality, selection on portion sizes. Team was very...

I've been in Berlin twice and had a bad to just ok food experience. I was looking for something that would be good and wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. That was meant to be Schwarzwaldstuben.During the last day of my stay desperate for o good food experience I searched a bit and found it. To the point... The staff was great, the place was neat and the food was SUUUPEEEERB! The taste was great, the balance of flavors was right and there was so much aroma in our dishes. We got the "Mixed Salad" and for main the "Game sausages with mashed potatoes" and " Crispy pasta squares with a meat filling fried with onions, and Swabian potato salad". The price was fair and the portions enough to fill us to the top. I will...

This was our first meal out in Mitte and it was absolutely delicious. I tasted every meal at our table and each one was better than the other! I wanted to dine here more than once but we just didn't have time! Definitely eat here when you're in Berlin. The Schnitzel is amazing (my kiddos loved it and so did I), and the spatzle was super cheesy but mild and over-the-top delicious. I had the Geschmelzte Maultaschen mit Kartoffelsalat (pasta layered with meat and topped with fried onions alongside potato salad) and loved it! The ambiance is great and they also have a very tasty selection of cocktails. All around great restaurant totally worth traveling to when you're in Berlin.

What a cute little place with an old romantic feel. I almost feel like I'm in for British tea. I wanted to like this place, but the food just wasn't quite there. First, and this may be German culture, it took a while to get a menu that I just went up and picked one up myself. I ordered the vegetarian gebratene maultaschen (ravioli) with salad. The salad was actually pretty nice and fresh - it came with a creamy mustard dressing. Unfortunately, the ravioli left something to be desired, as beautiful as it looks. For the price (with beer, it came out to about 19 euros), I expected a little more.
