I knew it was authentic when I called to make a reservation and the lady picked up speaking in Korean. Living abroad, I'm always dying for that taste of home and Seoul Kwan is the closest I've come to getting it in Berlin. It is the oldest Korean restaurant in Berlin still operating by a family owner. I walked in and I've never been to a restaurant with so many Koreans in one place. Made my heart skip a beat personally. They also have some typical dishes not easily found elsewhere in other Korean places like TangSuYook, YookGaeJang, DakGangJung and GopChang. The place is legit. A lot of Korean families getting together having a soup and rice and Banchan. My only issue was that the kimchi wasn't the fermented kind but the fresh version. But otherwise the most authentic place we have been to so far. Definitely go with a crowd of minimum 4 people to try more dishes together.

Very yummy korean food! The restaurant could be found a bit away from the hot spots of Berlin and hidden since the house undergoes renovation works so we first missed it. The place looks a bit older and very traditional with nice wall decorations. There is a German and a Korean menu on the table with different dishes (but no problem in times of google translator. We had cold noodles and Ox tail soup from the korean menu). You will get free small kimchi dishes along with the main dishes (which was the case in every korean restaurant years before but seldomly today). The restaurant has a nice website where they state to be the oldest korean restaurant in Berlin. Prices are very reasonable. We like and recommend it.

The food here was straight forward good food with no frills. Sam Gyup Sal (pork belly) was the highlight for me. The rest was pretty good too except the bulgogi was a tad too salty. The banchan was very tasty. The only downside was that you have to pay extra to get more banchan. The restaurant is usually busy so calling ahead to make a reservation is highly recommended. The staff came to our table so many times trying to clear our plates while we were still eating. I understand that they want to seat as many people as possible so I felt very pressured to leave and couldn’t enjoy the food and drinks. Overall, I’d still visit Seoul-Kwan again - mostly for the food and not the vibe.

We were really looking forward to this restaurant. However, a disappointing experience. The mussels are not fresh, so we couldn't even finish the dish. (Mussels with kimchi and boiled pork belly). Worse, we had a seafood pancake that we waited for 40 minutes after ordering. We informed the staff twice, and a lady came up to us and said, "Are you guys sure you didn't eat the pancake? " which is ridiculous, made us really shocked and uncomfortable! The whole restaurant has no ventilation, our clothes smell after the visit. Unlike most other Korean restaurants, the side dishes here are not refillable. One person who orders one portion of food is served one set of side dish while four people who order four portions of food are also served a set of side dish which is totally not understandable. There were even 7 of us who ordered a full table only to be told that there would be an extra charge for additional side dishes. In this case, each person can then sit at a single table and just order food separately. 🤷🏻‍♀️

There are many better Korean restaurants in Berlin. From the food to the price to...

Giving one star because I can't give 0 stars. Today is 08.07.2023 and the two waitresses are very arrogant. There was only one table in the whole restaurant, and after we called the waitress to order, we waited a long, long time. I clearly saw that they were not busy. the most important is! One of the older waitresses made a very rude and disgusted facial expression towards the younger waitress, which happened to be seen by me! What's wrong with you? What about us? The dishes are average, and the cold noodles have a strong sprite taste, which is very disappointing. It cost 44 euros, we were very unhappy and didn't want to tip anything, but we still gave 45 euros. But the young waitress took the money without saying anything, turned around quickly and left arrogantly, and even left the entire small book that recorded the dishes on the table. And there is no invoice at all. Strongly do not recommend this place!...
